Bongnimwon — Restaurant in Incheon

I really appteciate their kindness when I had trouble, I booked a cheap hotel because I had no choice arriving late at Incheon. I was locked out of my room by mistake and there was no receptionist, he went for dinner!! Lol. I had no phone, had to call the hotel manager to get in my room at 9 PM. 2 other stores refused to help me to use their phones, but the owner couple of this store was different and kindly handed me their phone and allowed me to stay in the store while I was able to get into my hotel room. their family was about to eat dinner after business. S.Korea was not like this 20 years ago, I remember my mom set up a full lunch table if a stranger came to our house and asked food, it was our kindness to people who need in help. the first two stores were afraid to call someone on behalf of a stranger in trouble, and was surprised even they refuse to help someone in need of urgent help in front of their kids watching. How shameful.

I really appreciate the couple owners of this restaurant and I was really sorry bothering their family dinner after a hard working day. I could have slept homeless on the street that night if they didn't help me.

오랜만에 차이나타운을 찾았다. 코로나로 인해 이렇게나 다를줄이야. 6시 저녁이 되어 식사를 하려 근처 호텔서 나왔더니, 이건 저녁 늦은 10시나 되는 풍경이었다. 저녁을 어찌 해결하나 고민을 하며 길을 더 들어서니, 문을 연 두어군데가 보였다. 항상 이곳만 오면 어딜가나 고민하던 그 선택장애에서, 이젠 그냥 보이는 곳 가장 가까운 가게로 들어갔다. 한파가 절정기였던 일기예보의 당일날이라 부산 사람인 내게는 추워도 무진장 추웠다. 주인장이 추천한 붉은 짬뽕과 크림새우. 추운곳에 있다 먹어서 그런지... 아... 다시 생각만해도 군침이 돈다. 이 거리는 어딜가나 다 맛있는걸까?라고 생각할 정도로 검색을 거치지않은 어쩔 수 없는 선택에서 이런 기쁨을 누릴 수 있다니. 짬뽕은 결국 나의 옷을 하나씩 벗게 만들었다. 많이 매운편인데 그게 어찌나 시원하게 맵던지, 도중에 난 화장실을 빌려 안의 내의를 벗어 접고는 윗옷만 걸치고 다시 식사를 했다. 몸이 너무 뜨겁게 반응을 해서, 넘치는 열기에 식사가 거추장스럽고, 불편해지지않게 하려고 말이다. 시원하고 아주 얼큰한, 맛깔나게 우려진 고기와 해물의 국물은 한 모금 한 모금이 너무 달고, 꼬시고, 짭쪼름했다. 결국 마지막을 위해 짬뽕을 일부러 조금 남겨놓고 크림 새우를 시식하기 시작. 이건 또 왜 이리 맛있네... 아 참... 많은 량의 면이 벌써 꽉 차 들어 갔는데. 식사 시간동안 오로지 있었던 우리는 화교인 주인장 내외와 많은 이야기를 나누며 식사를 하였고, 내 일행이었던 중국계 싱가폴인은 자기들끼리 쏼롸쏼라. 결국 대화와 함께 긴 식사는 맛난 음식을 내장에 가득 체울 시간적 여유를 주었고, 일어서 걷기 힘들어하는 나를 여주인장이 차를 더 내올테니 더 쉬다가라 하였다. 차를 마시면 면이 더 불어질터라 어정어정거리며 주방에도 인사를 드리고 나오니, 그 추위는 어느새 쾌청한 마실바람이 되었다. 아기염소 일곱마리를 먹어치운 늑대의 배를 잘라 돌을 채워 넣은 동화를 생각하며 녹다 얼은 눈길위를 조심조심하며 숙소로...
