Makgeoli restaurant right by the hanok village! Dishes are substantial and delicious. Recommended to us by a local.

You have 2 choices for menu - the basic menu works such that every 2 x 750ml bottle of makgeoli you order, you will get 4-5 incremental dishes. Or if you don’t plan to drink that much, the 2 set menu options will give your more dishes with only 2 bottles of makgeoli. We went for the smaller set menu and couldn’t finish the 12 generous dishes that came (3 pax). Well worth a visit! They do provide a not super well-translated English menu, or just take a...

Arrive & put name down & # in your party. The staff doesn’t speak much English but we were able to communicate enough to get by. You order a teapot of makgeolli and it comes with a set of food dishes. For each additional teapot, more set dishes come out. Essentially, you are buying the makgeolli and the food is “free”. But it was PLENTY! We only got one teapot and we were STUFFED with the food that came w/ it. There are á la carte menu items you can add if you want more food or drinks. Super crowded- we were the only westerners....

Wow, fantastic value at this little bar. Krw38,000 for two people, including 8 dishes and a kettle of wine. Standout dish was the chicken in herb soup, just fantastic! You can order a la carte, but you won't save any money. Quite busy, we came early and got a table no problem, could be difficult at peak dinner time. Make sure you go to the correct place, this is located in a small building which looks like it has a...
