Friends wanted to try the highly-rated Jeju Osung Traditional Restaurant (제주오성), which is reputed for serving cutlassfish / largehead hairtail fish and mackerel fish, in a couple of traditional styles. . Ambience at Jeju Osung Traditional Restaurant is modern and spacious. The brightly lit place has floor to ceiling glass panels, offering a view of the surroundings. Wide sturdy wooden tables with cushioned booth seats are neatly spread across the spacious restaurant, with green boxes separating the space. During peak periods, chatter fills the air. . Service at Jeju Osung Traditional Restaurant is attentive and efficient. Staff communicate in halting English and Mandarin, fluent Korean. The menu helpfully offers good translation with pictures, so self-service ordering is a breeze. Staff help fillet the grilled fishes tableside, a treat to watch them expertly de-bone the fish. I note they clean up quickly when diners leave. . Food at Jeju Osung Traditional Restaurant is traditional Korean cuisine, focused on grilled and braised fish dishes. Ingredients are fresh, and their popularity means good turnover throughout the day. Meals are hearty with a good range of accompaniments. Portions are large, designed for communal sharing. Prices are relatively higher than elsewhere, budget about KRW ₩33,000 / SGD $33 per person.

Excellent traditional Korean food. Lucky we went in at lunch time to book for dinner. There was a very long queue when we arrived for dinner. When we finished dinner, it was still a long queue. The biggest plus for this Restaurant is their English menu. The food was really nice and so many additional stuff for free, as with many Korean restaurants. When we finished our dinner, we were given vouchers for coffee at a shop next door. They had coffee and sold many food and gifts. With the voucher, we also got a discount which was great. If I return to Jeju, this would be a place I would be happy to come back to.

A very unique restaurant where I got to enjoy grilled cutlassfish for the first time. The grilled fish was fresh, flaky and so delicious. The whole set also came with braised Jeju cutlassfish which was served with other seafood such as abalone, prawns, clams and octopus. The soup base was spicy but yet has that hint of sweetness to elevate the dish. The other excellent dish which we tasted was the deep fried octopus. It wasn’t chewy at all and was don’t just right - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I would highly recommend for anyone to try this at least once while you are in Jeju.

Our experience was perfect, delightful and delicious. From the friendly service of the driver who picked us up from our hotel to the restaurant complimentary to the waitstaff, food and cafe/souvenir shop downstairs - we thought every aspect was wonderful. All of the staff are very observant, friendly and helpful. The set courses are very generous and will leave you very full. We couldn’t even finish everything despite trying! 😋 The souvenir shop / cafe downstairs gave us a discount as we had just dined at the restaurant. Can’t wait to try the mandarin candle and tea when I get home 👏🏼😍

Was there for breakfast and ordered the braised cutlass fish set, ala-carte of grilled mackerel and sea urchin seaweed soup. Oh, we also had beer for breakfast. The set came with the side dishes. I liked the japchae and there's one fish of boiled cabbage served with a pungent fermented beanpaste dip. It takes a while to get used to but the flavours will grow on you. Loved the braised fish. A tad spicy but very good. Ate it up with the rice. The staff kindly helped us to remove the bones from the grilled cutlass fish. Thank you! Satisfying meal overall.

This was recommended by our local driver. To our surprise, the food was so good. It was full when we reached, so we waited about 15min at the waiting area. We ordered the full set at 235,000 won that came with fried octopus, fried fish x 2, juicy and freshly grilled hairtale fish, and a full long pot of Ocotpus, 8 x fresh (still alive) abalone, prawns and also hairtale fish too. Service was so so until we met one of the waiter who can speak Mandarin. He served us well:-) thumbs up to this place.
