I was in the mood for pancakes and didn't want to go to far from home so I thought about Grain. I'd had their breakfast set before and it was a good selection of breakfast items that you can choose.
We got the wholewheat pancakes which come out soufflé style and the oatmeal pancakes.
The pancakes are very well presented with the wholewheat pancakes on a nice wobbly stack that has homemade muesli sprinkled around and blueberry with a nice lemon butter on top with strawberries. The pancakes were not warm enough to melt the butter which would have been nice but it was still very nice. The pancakes had a nice and fluffy consistency to them and it wasn't sweet which was good because the blueberries and maple syrup adds to it.
The oatmeal pancakes are served with homemade Greek yogurt, muesli and fruit. The pancakes had a bit of a wet texture to it and you could get a taste of oatmeal in the pancakes. The addition of all the toppings made it a nice dish but I guess it wasn't the traditional style of pancakes I was looking for.
The coffee was as good as I remembered but the green tea average with a very mild taste of green tea.
If you want more traditional pancakes then you won't get it with these but if you are looking for something different then it is...
Read moreSad to be posting this. Food was great. Out experience was not.
We had an error on our order (there was an additional item that we didn’t order). An item we didn’t order came to our table and we were confused, they took the food back and ignored it. We weren’t sure if we were charged for it.
When we asked, we learned that they charged us for the wrong item, took the food, and didn’t communicate that they would be charging us. Didn’t try to correct the issue, ignored it instead :(
They said they checked the order with us but they were asking for allergies, not for double checking the order. They don’t offer any refunds due to a policy.
They also didn’t offer any other items for the same value in exchange (like a coffee of tea), we could either take the incorrect sandwich we paid for or take nothing and still have been charged.
In short, double or triple check your order as they...
Read moreWe arrived shortly after opening (9 am) on a Thursday in June. There was one couple in the shop. You can scan a QR code to see pictures of the menu. Otherwise, you go up to the cashier to pay when ready. The food is artistic and generally satisfying. Just a note that many of the photos show souffle pancakes--those are no longer available. The prices seem a bit high and they had a "tip jar" next to the register, which is not as common around Korea. Otherwise, the food came out in about 10-15 minutes. My egg was room temperature and wasn't sure if that was normal or not. Otherwise, the mustroom sandwich was good although I thought the mustard spread artistically on the side was interesting. Worth a visit if you are in the area. It is located on the second floor so not obvious were it not for the breadboard posted...
