The atmosphere was ok but I guess with the number of reviews I felt a bit cheated because I assumed the high reviews and consistency of it made me think it’s a lot better than it really is. They were very adamant on you giving a review.
I would say the food is average at best, the service was sub par as I felt like I was just watching the person cooking while I couldn’t really get to the kimchi and other sides dish while I’m trying to eat the cooked meat before it cools.
Oh did I mention that the beef was partially half if not fully cooked when it arrived? If I wanted that I wouldn’t come to a kbbq place. Also it kinda felt like they just wanted to shove food at you and then leave.
In addition, we got ribs and the way they cut it made me confused on how to eat it with the lettuce, other sides to make a wrap. The bone was still on the meat, so am I supposed to make a wrap with it and spit out the bone after? The whole process was a bit confusing to me.
I’d say, not really worth the money. But I guess considering the location it’s ok. But I wouldn’t go here again if given the chance nor would I take a...
Read moreI’ve had Korean BBQ many times in the U.S. and always enjoyed it, so I was incredibly excited to finally try it in Seoul—and this place did not disappoint. My partner and I were admittedly a bit clueless about how to enjoy Korean BBQ "Korean-style" (as the waitress put it), so we probably looked a little silly at first—eating plain slices of meat and drinking makgeolli straight from the bottle. Thankfully, a kind fellow diner (with a bit of a chuckle) let us know that the small gold bowls were actually for the makgeolli, not the food! The waitress also noticed our innocent ignorance and kindly guided us on how to properly eat the BBQ, which completely transformed the flavors. Once we understood the flow and flavor combinations, everything clicked, and the meal became absolutely incredible. We had a good laugh about our beginner mistakes, but in the end, it made the night even more memorable. There was a bit of a wait for a table, but it was absolutely worth it. The food was just that good. I only wish I...
Read moreHad to wait more than 30 minutes but it was probably ultimately worth it. Service (cooking at the table) was quality and the staff were pleasant and personable. Set meal could probably come with a few more sides as it is very meat-centric. That said, overall, a pretty decent dining experience for the style of food and given it was mostly ribs.
I kept my original review for reference but have reconsidered based on subsequent experiences in South Korea. Relative to other restaurants, it is grossly overpriced and the meat quality is poor and tough. The waiter was great but that was really the only genuine positive. The wait was not worth it. It was around the most expensive meal we ate in South Korea and easily one of the least impressive. Would not recommend unless someone wants the novelty of the meat being cut off a giant bone in front of you and if you like the...
