Kyuseu chicken — Restaurant in Seoul

I have read about good food in Mangwon market, and one of it has to be the fried chicken. I was not sure which is the recommended stall but I did see a couple of stalls selling fried chicken and I decided to just try my luck and pick on a random stall. Picked this one with a bright pink signboard with many photos of celebrities taken in a TV program. Looked at the price and it seemed reasonable and allowing mixing of flavours. There were some interesting flavours which were savoury, sweet and spicy. I decided to go safe and not pick those which are too spicy or funky. The lady staff did actually recommend some flavours and I followed my gut feeling. For 13,000 won the portion was quite decent and it allowed me to mix 3 flavours. After paying for it, I didn't have it immediately as I wanted to find a place where I could enjoy the food. Had a try and I found that it was decent but not very good. The chicken was still in some lukewarm state and hence not very crispy, and the sauce was pretty cold. I just wished the chicken could be hotter and then would taste better. Would be better if they don't just cook individually the flavours and prepare the mixing of flavours upon order. Was already quite full before I even finished the entire portion, I didn't like the tteokbokki as I thought it was cold and quite rubbery. Could have done away with that. The fried chicken wasn’t that good. For 4,000 per cup, you get around 6 bite size pieces of fried chicken. It was cold and not crispy. We chose two of the most spicy flavours but they were not spicy at all. They also taste very similar. Overall, it was pretty disappointing and we are unlikely to go again.
