We've been visiting the Salt House location near Gajwa station since 2016 and have always enjoyed their selection of meats, cheese, nuts, candy, and gin.
Once we heard a new location had opened we finally got ourselves there and ordered some really amazing sandwiches.
We ordered the jamon fromage and the pastrami sandwich and we were both pleased with our choices. The jamon fromage was such a tasty sandwich with the jamon being the star of the show which wasn't too salty and tasted clean and there was plenty of meat in this sandwich and was served in a really nice bread with a side of potatoes and pickled vegetables. I really enjoyed this sandwich and was a proper sandwich like what I'd be use to eating in England.
We're big fans of pastrami and were not disappointed with the choice we made. Again there is so much meat in the sandwich and the taste of the meat was such a delight and well seasoned and not dry like some other pastrami sandwiches I've tried before. The bread again made this a good sandwich and the potato salad was a great addition to the sandwich.
There is a good selection of craft beers which was a nice compliment to the meal. There are also a few cheeky cocktails on the menu and we had their gin which tasted amazing!
A great sandwich shop which I am sure I will continue to visit many times and I look forward to trying their hot dishes next time.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND...
ย ย ย Read moreWe had lunch here today. I had the ham roll. It is was a simple thing executed to 100% perfection. First, the baguette was perfectly baked. Crisp on the outside and fully baked on the inside with a crumb that bounced back as it should. Second, the ham is from the famous black pigs on Jeju island. Coming from Ireland, I know my ham well. This tasted incredible - next level. Third, the French butter. Now, in my opinion, Ireland produces the best butter in the world but I donโt not think that it would belong on this roll. The roll was completely elevated by the lightness, creaminess and balanced saltiness of the lovely thick layer of the French butter. Each ingredient was incredible in its own right and brought together in perfectly generous proportions to make the best ham roll I have ever had. Washed down with a gorgeous glass of pinot noir. 10/10. I am in Seoul for another few days and look forward to coming back for the charcuterie board and a...
ย ย ย Read moreI came here on a Sunday night and ordered the jambon beurre. The ham and butter were fine, but the baguette was disappointing - stale and overly hard. Instead of a crisp, crunchy exterior and soft crumb inside, it was just cold and dry, like it had been left in the fridge.
The service was polite, but the overall ordering process felt confusing (it wasn't clear when or where I should pay). For some reason, it took a while for my order to arrive, even though there was only one other table of customers.
For a small space, they did their best with the ambience. That being said, the lack of separation from the order counter and the dining area felt a bit cafeteria-like.
Honestly, if the baguette had been better, I wouldn't nickpick over the service and atmosphere.
I do think the meats are worth it here, and just hope my next...
