After shopping for groceries at Mangwon market my stomach was rumbling and we've been wanting to try this place out for a while and finally made the visit.
We ordered the Pho Bo, Bun Cha and the fried spring rolls (짜조).
It was my first time trying bun cha and had to Google how to eat it. I dipped the noodles into the bowl of broth that had chillies, garlic grilled pork belly and some other ingredients which I think were fish sauce, lime and other thing's. You then add the fresh selection of greens and eat away. The broth was very enjoyable and had a taste that reminded me of papaya salad as I was able to get a sweet, sour, salty and spicy taste and the addition of the grilled pork belly gave it a nice charred flavour.
The beef pho was pretty average and plain tasting. It had a subtle taste to the broth which felt light and there wasn't any flavour bursting out of it. The beef was also tough and seemed like it wasn't cooked long enough to be tender which was a disappointment.
The fried spring rolls were really nice and crispy and the pork filling inside was well seasoned and flavoured. I could have eaten loads of spring rolls with a few glasses...

퍼보는 역시 국물이 시원하다. 따로 얘길 안해서 그런가 원래 그런건지 고수가 안나옴. 하노이 분짜 담가먹는 국물은 안에 돼지고기 그리고 당근과 무인지 무같은 식감의 채소가 주로 들어가 있다. 채소는 새싹채소, 깻잎, 상추, 치커리 등이나온다. (베트남에서는 보다 다양한 향채를 많이 사용하는데 한국이다 보니 현지 맞춤형으로 나온 듯.) 반쎄오는 시키면 라이스 페이퍼가 같이 나온다. 반쎄오 안에 약간 생양파가 들어가 있는데 그닥 없어도 될거 같다. 따로 노는 느낌. (그리고 가격이 너무 비싼 느낌.) 짜조 양이 적을 수 있다. 시키면 느억맘소스가 같이 나옴. 전체적으로 베트남 현지의 느낌을 기대하면 안된다. 한국인 맞춤 베트남 맛집 정도로 생각하면 좋을 거 같다.
