MoMo Café — Restaurant in Seoul

By the chance of my 3rd stay in this property, I would like to focus on F&B in Momo cafe and the service mind which the waiter(waitress) has.

Momo Cafe: It is located on the lobby floor, all day dining one. Except for club lounge (beautiful sky louge with garden) which is not being operated during COVID-19 pandemic, it is the only restaurant and bar which the property has.

Due to the Covid-19 measures, ala carte is served in stead of the usual buffet style.

For dinner, there is only one selection which is grilled chicken with vegetables and Nasi Goreng. The kitchen must be equipped with fine grill because it is very tasty even for me who usually prefers well-done and crispy one.

For breakfast, we have 2 choices. Korean style (rice with soup, egg, side dishes) and American style (bread with egg, sausage and bacon)

Service mind: Along with the tasty dishes and clean tables, it is really commendable. The staffs do not wait but come to me everytime they catch the guests' eyes to check what we need. Their service and feedback was very correct and prompt. (especially thanks to Ms. Ela Pyo)

This place is open to the public, but really it is the in house breakfast restaurant for the Marriott. Breakfast closes at 10am, and comes at a set price, so if you are going here to get a la carte, it's probably not the best place. 지난 4개월간 국내 애프터눈티 메구리 마지막을 장식하는 30회째입니다. 이곳은 1인 애프터눈티가 가능한 곳으로 30곳중에서 5곳은 1인이 가능했습니다. 처음에 타임스퀘어가 생기고 옥상정원 같은 곳을 오가며 호텔라운지 같은 공간이 보였었는데, 그곳으로 들어 갑니다.

2인 42,000이었던 같은 코트야드체인의 판교점이 최저가였는데, 코트야드타임스퀘어점은 1인 25,000에 이용이 가능했으므로 1인이용하는 저로서는 최저가는 이곳인 셈입니다. 높이가 높지 않는 5F이었지만 창가석은 양쪽으로 있었고 안쪽은 영등포소방서뷰가 그리고 자리안내를 받은 가든뷰는 신세계와 씨지비를 연결해주는 옥상정원이 보입니다.

그런데 현재 코로나로 인해서 이곳은 통행이 금지되어 있는데, 통행하는 사람이 없다보니 일종의 액자정원 효과를 톡톡히 누립니다. 때마침 벚꽃도 피어 창문 넘어 벚꽃을 보면서 애프터눈티를 즐기게 됩니다. 30회 강제특집이 이루어지는건가요?

1인분의 단점은 비쥬얼이 50%이상 감소됩니다. 일본에서는 대부분 (당연히) 1인기준으로 나오니 크게 비쥬얼에 차이가 없게 애초에 플레이팅이 되지만 한국은 빈자리가 크더군요ㅠㅋ 음료도 1개만 가능해서 홍차로 선택합니다. 브랜드는 독일브랜드인 알트하우스로 티백이었고 티웨어도 모두 세트입니다.

선택가능한 차중에서 얼그레이는 없어서 블랙티의 표준으로 꼽히는 잉글리쉬 블랙퍼스트로 골랐습니다. (이맛이 홍차다라고 말하는듯한) 일반적이고 무난하게 긴시간동안 마시기에 안성맞춤이었습니다. 1잔만 고를 수 있다면 커피 보다는 홍차가 애프터눈티와의 궁합은 좋습니다.

1종의 샌드위치 스콘포함 6종의 스위츠류 그리고 생딸기 2개로 구성되어 있습니다. 판교와 꼭 닮아 있었죠. 스콘이 특이하게 칼로 반을 미리 잘라서 딸기잼까지 발라져 제공입니다. 변경을 요청할까 하다가 그냥 먹습니다. 버터는 따로 없어서 요청 해받았습니다. 이곳의 스콘도 꽤나 맛있었습니다. 한입크기의 스위츠류들은 아주 맛있지는 않았습니다. 그래도 스콘하나만 맛있어도...
