I made my reservation from Fri, Jan 14, 2022 – Sat, Jan 15, 2022 with Confirmation Number: 96847193 via Marriott app. My reservation clearly said my check in time is 15:00 on the 14th of January and check out time is 12:00 on 15th of January. But when I arrived to lobby for check in, Alice helped me to check me in. Then she said my reservation is only good for 6 hours not I cannot stay over night. Also she explained this is good for 6 hours but only up to midnight. If I check in at 23:00, then this reservation would not go to 05:00 next morning but only to 24:00 on the same night which is good for only an hour.
So I showed my phone with reservation clearly showing my checkout time is 12:00 on next day, she said many customers makes the same mistake and they have to pay extra if they would like to stay over night.
So I asked to speak to the manager because it was my reasoning that she does not have the authority to override/extend my reservation. Then seconds later Alex arrived claiming he is the general manager of the hotel. And his attitude was nothing close to polite. His words choice was impolite and looking me down saying, you made the reservation and it is your mistake. We are kind enough to cancel your reservation free of charge and reschedule with today's rate and walked away. His gestures impaled he did not wanted spend any more second with me.
I was very disappointing with my experience that day. I visited this hotel many times because its location just works out for me. But it is too bad that I lost one of my favorite hotel to go because I don't think I will be visiting here again because I don't want to be treated this way again like Alex did,
I never left a negative review to any of my travel partners but unfortunately I had to do this time so that Marriott is aware of what is going on and hopefully it does not happen on other locations.
Let let me add one more thing. What is this 6 hour hotel stay? Is this to become a love hotel? I am sure the original plan is to take the advantage of the empty rooms in the daytime so others might use as an office or relaxing time in a discounted price. But because you can stay up to 6 hours until midnight, young couples come after drink and spend their intimate time. During my stay on that night, I had to suffer noises from bed hitting the wall and women screaming from next door and the room above me.
Thank God my kids were not there on that stay!
Please feel free to reach me if you have...
Read moreDo not stay here. Honestly we never leave reviews unless the service is exceptional but we want to warn others so they do not have the same poor experience.
We stayed here for 4 nights and there were a multitude of things that went wrong. First off, the hotel is located in front of a very busy set of train tracks that run constantly (every minute) from 5am-11pm. The room we were in faced directly towards these tracks and the noise was heard through noise cancelling headphones and earplugs while I slept. Next, the hotel’s daily cleaning service was inconsistent and subpar at best. Certain days we would not be given new towels, we asked our linens to be changed following the 3rd night and they clearly were not changed when we returned, there were mosquitos inside the room, and dust anywhere and everywhere. The hotel room we stayed in (2 double beds) was created in a manner where the bathroom had no door. There was only a sliding door that cut off the entire bedroom area from the bathroom and door section. Extremely inconvenient.
We requested their laundry service and followed their exact instructions. I even called twice and spoke to the front desk to ensure I was taking every step to ensure our laundry would be completed as we were foreigners to South Korea and wanted to follow their rules. When we returned that night, our dirty laundry that had been hung outside our door that morning, was returned to the inside of our room on the ground. Still dirty. The laundry card that we filled out was also thrown on the ground. When we called the help desk, all they could come up with was there was an error on their end and since we were checking out the next morning, there was nothing that could be done. Our checkout was at 12pm and we asked if we could pay extra for their express laundry service which allegedly started at 9am and would be completed in 3 hours (by the time we were checking out), they simply said no that was not possible and they would try not to make this mistake again. We were offered zero compensation, the accommodation for the staff (or lack there of) was shocking, and no one seemed to want to help us in any way. Last but not least, their breakfast buffet is awful. I cannot believe they can call that a buffet and charge their own guests $20 for a selection of scrambled eggs and what looked like week old bread. Please save yourself the time and money and book...
Read moreGood location near shops, but otherwise dismal. On a good day, this place can aspire to be as good as your local run-down road side motel 6 from the 1980's. This place fails on so many levels, I'm not sure where to focus. When I checked out on a Monday with a reservation to return on Friday of the same week, I filled out their laundry bag and form and asked them to do laundry to wait for my return. I also gave them a large suitcase to hold. Upon my return, not only did they have trouble finding a big yellow suitcase, they gave me my laundry bag with the dirty (now ripe) clothes, untouched and fermenting for a week. When I questioned them, they said it was "miscommunication" So, giving them clothes in their own laundry bag with their own laundry form filled out and there was "miscommunication" about why the bag of dirty clothes was given to them? Lame excuse. Also, they insisted on me checking in the day prior and wanted to confirm my arrival time, which did, for 2pm-they agreed and allowed me to check in. Unfortunately, when I arrived at 2:15pm, the person took my passport, scanned it, looked at it, then gave it back to me, telling me my room was not ready and asking me to stand aside for 15 minutes, which I did. I did not go anywhere, nor change my appearance in any way, and remained in plain sight of the person behind the counter at all times. Of course, when that same person called me up, they insisted again that they needed to see my passport to confirm my identity. I guess there's a severe memory issue at the front desk. As for the closet that they call a room, not only is it smaller than my actual closet at home, it also has zero temperature control. During the winter, it's Heating Only. During the summer, it's cooling only. All you can control is the fan speed, and you cannot open the window to get fresh air, as they are for emergencies only. This is fine during the winter and summer, but when I visited in April, some days are warm and some days are cold, so right now it is a sauna in here. Really cheap. There are many other issues with this place, but this review is too long as it is. Bottom line, coming from a lifetime Platinum member of Marriott, this Fairfied is one of worst hotels, Marriott or otherwise, and should be avoided. I recommend to find a different hotel. I definitely will NOT be coming here again. AVOID...
