Pho 88 — Restaurant in Seoul

Ordered for delivery:

The pho was just alright, but the shrimp fried rice was great; the rice is fried perfectly with a nice little kick of spice.

I also ordered the bun cha but was sent the com suon instead, and not only was it not what I ordered (I triple checked my order to make sure I didn’t misclick) but the dish was not great, or even on the same field as great. The meat tasted like it was artificially smoked.

We ordered takeout from the restaurant, and unfortunately it was incredibly disappointing. The noodles were undercooked, and the broth had no flavor whatsover, both the regular and spicy versions. Having a solid broth at a pho joint is pretty basic. Someone in my party also ordered the bun cha, and that too had no flavor. The fish sauce that they provided was mild and barely resembled...

We ordered the pho with beef brisket and the pork vermicelli. The pork vermicelli was pretty good and the fish sauce was on point with some spices in it, but the pho was definitely missing some flavor. It was a little oily and on the sweet side. The hot sauce was spicy and good, but it had a Korean red pepper base and definitely did not taste...
