Overall- it's cool if you have some time to kill. Coffee is good, theme is unique. I wouldn't be upset if you don't have time to go though.
☔️☕️The theme of this cafe is rain- they make it rain (literally) in the outdoor garden every so often and people line up to take photos with the provided umbrellas. They've got water flowing as decor, as well as various digital animated rain artworks.
😵💫Removing 1 star for being so trendy it's a bit cryptic. (I don't think it would be less cryptic if I spoke Korean, there was English.) The coffee menu is a vague diagram on the wall; pretty much the coffee from top to bottom is fruity to strong; the second half of the coffee menu is coffee beverages, and the last 3 are the caffeine-free drinks. Photos and descriptions of the items can be found on the digital menu which flashes randomly between items, which is a bit hard to follow if you're curious about one particular item. The staff was friendly while explaining in English from zero for me. They do have paper menus, which they safeguard at the counter but I'm sure they'd let you look if you ask.
☕️They do know their coffee! The roasting is on point. I got their signature Pepper Cloud (black pepper coffee beverage)- so tasty and complex!!! The black pepper flavor mixes well with the cream. It's got a slight kick to it! Don't mix it.
🍰Removed 1 star for the cake. Opera- the cake itself was alright. The sesame outer layer was great! The cookie on the plate was to die for. Maybe I just haven't had many opera cakes before, but the cake itself was kind of bland.

The cafe has a quiet, modern, dark look. They create rain artificially, outside the large windows overlooking the houses downhill, to make it seem like it is always raining. In the winter, they create artificial snow. It is built on two floors. On the bottom floor, there's a nice, common area, built around a fountain. On the top floor, you've got some nice rooms, overlooking the houses downhill, and even a few massage chairs.
The coffee, the hot chocolate and, most importantly, the cakes are out of this world. I've been to the cafe twice to try their cakes. I've been to France, I've been to Austria, I've been to Belgium and I've been to Switzerland, and yet Seoul managed to impress me the most with the cakes I've eaten here - Rain Report in particular.
I could easily spend hours in this cafe, just chilling.
The cafe is located on the narrow streets of Itaewon, at the bottom of the Namsan Mountain. If you visit N Seoul Tower (the iconic Seoul tower), consider a 30 minute hike down the mountain. If you manage to visit it in the summer, I'm sure you'll have a nice, cozy experience in the courtyard as well.
It gets pretty crowded on the weekend, so make sure you get...
Read moreRain Report is certainly a charming and unique spot to visit while in the area. The rain feature adds a special touch to the atmosphere, making the space feel calm and immersive. During our visit, we were pleasantly surprised by a snow show outside, which added an extra layer of magic to the experience.
One of the highlights was the candle dessert, which looked like three white candles — and we were even given a match to “light” them. It was a playful and memorable detail, and the dessert itself was absolutely delicious. The drinks were also interesting and creative, adding to the overall unique vibe of the café.
The space was quiet, peaceful, and beautifully designed — a lovely place to relax. The staff were very kind and welcoming, which made the visit even better. Honestly, we just wish we had more room to keep eating, because there were so many cool things we wanted to try!
We truly enjoyed our time at Rain Report and will definitely be...
