Read moreThis is my favorite restaurant in Asia. I first ate lunch here in September 2023 and the meal was so good, we asked if there were any last minute cancellations so we can eat it again.... Unfortunately none were available. We then asked what was the earliest opening, and the staff told us December 13th was the earliest availability. We flew from Taipei back to Seoul with dinner at MOSU being the highlight of the trip.
I told some other friends how this is the best meal I have had in a long time and we were planning a trip back in a few months. Note: Typically, I am the person in the group that is hardest to impress, so my friend's were all wondering why.
I went to this restaurant with two friends. Friend A did not like to eat carbohydrates such as breads and pasta. Normally the most she would eat was just a small bite or completely forgo that dish. At MOSU, she ate everything and loved it. Friend B did not enjoy fish, she could eat sushi but really disliked cooked fish. Her comment after eating the cooked fish course was, "This is the BEST fish I have ever had in my life." MOSU has the ability to have people love the food despite their biases.
The building, the decoration down to the silverware, the hostess, the sommelier each person, place or thing felt comfortable and just worked. I have been to places where the food is good but the service is not and it distracts you from having a good time. Everything here worked together so that the star of the show was the food.
Some of my favorite dishes:

Read moreFood was awesome until the dessert courses. Didn't enjoy the dessert courses as much where personally we felt was too sweet -the fried ginger was also quite coarse and I couldn't swallow the fibrous parts. Left the yakgwa unfinished as that was really sweet and grainy.
The courses were on the richer side and not as well-balanced (As I have fat/oil intolerance, most of my meal regrettably went to the toilet sink). Service was really good and friendly (special mention to Stanley) but the kitchen did not observe if we had eaten the food yet and kept bringing up the next small bites - it did feel quite rushed at the start - understandably the kitchen wants to go home on time for dinner service since I was taking a while photographing the food.
Celebrating birthdays here but there was no gesture on the desserts aside from the printed happy birthday on the menu. Enquired about it and was met with a confirmation that they only print happy birthday on the menu and not on the desserts. Expected a bit more for a three Michelin stars place and for a dinner costing...
