HOW TO GET IN: Go to the machine next to the door, change the language to English, scan the QR code, and enter the waitlist via entering your email. Sign-up for indoor tables because there's a lot more indoor tables. Alternatively you can join the waitlist online apparently. When it's your turn, go to the cashier inside, tell them your waitlist number, place your order, and then sit down.
WAIT: We arrived at 4:15pm at 65th in line, and finally were seated at 7:30pm - a 3 hour and 15 minute wait. There's plenty to see and do nearby - ended up seeing the nearby deer corral, eating pastries at Notre Don, having dinner at Paraná, and getting caricatures done all with plenty of time to spare.
FOOD: We paid 49,900 won for the apple mango bingsu. It came with a spoonful of red bean and condensed milk on the side, as well as 3 pieces of mango on a separate plate for some reason. While the mango was sweet, it did taste a bit overripe (slightly bitter). The bingsu itself was dense and not fluffy. Sadly I've had much higher quality bingsu in the West at less than 1/5 of the cost and a 0 minute wait....
AMBIENCE: The decor is....fine. Cute fresh fruit on display, but nothing special - especially considering the endless amounts of cuter cafes nearby. The bathroom floor was filthy and covered in wet brown marks. The AC is blasting which makes it awkward to eat cold desserts.
SERVICE: Sufficient and straightforward - no frills, blunt, but to the point. The workers seem overworked and the kitchen space seems crowded.
OVERALL: I decided to write this review as a PSA that this place is not worth the hype at all - not worth the time or money. The other reviews are glowing towards the food but I strongly disagree. Please go elsewhere if you're planning to...
Read moreWaited 90 minutes in line which unfortunately is not where it ends. After you get in, you get seated and the workers don’t give any attention to you.
The bingsu was a whopping 49,000 won…I’m not the type to complain about prices as long as the food warrants it. But this was a very average bingsu. Nothing special about the mangos, yes they were sweet but nothing you cannot find from a local street vendor anywhere in Seoul. The ice had a pleasant milky flavour but honestly lackluster in sweetness. They provide you with a tiny little cup of condensed milk; again, you’d imagine for the price they would be a bit more generous with such a low cost item.
I also got their strawberry mango cake which is what saved this shop from a 1-star review. The cake was quite good; not too much cream, a lot of fruit and the cake itself was spongey and not overly sweet.
The shop must have its aircon set to 15 degrees because it’s FREEZING. Pretty ironic considering it’s a dessert shop selling ice cream and bingsu (ice dessert). You’d imagine the temperature doesn’t have to be so freaking cold.
In conclusion, save your valuable time while travelling and save your money. Not worth the wait at all, there’s other bingsu places nearby if you’re...
Read moreVisited this cafe on Thursday afternoon around 1.30pm and waited for about 1 hour for terrence table (outdoor). Overall the food and drinks are okay but the price is on the higher side. As a tourist from Southeast Asia, I have been to South Korea and Japan, and the popular dining places among tourists impose customers to buy 1 drink each. You will rarely see this "requirement" in Southeast Asia cafes/restaurants.
I hope that the owners to be more understanding that your customers may just came from full meal and cannot order that many drinks/food. However, we are still happy to try your drinks/food. One of the annoying things is that this cafe is double standard to tourists. I have 2 people dining and we are forced to order 1 drink each. However, I saw other Korean customers ordered 1 drink...
