We visited Thanks Oat and tried a variety of dishes and drinks. Overall, it was a lovely café experience with some highlights and a few surprises.
Acai Bowl The menu description is vague, but the bowl came topped with cherries, peanut butter, and nutty granola. The base itself wasn’t the best, it was a little icy and didn’t feel like pure acai but the toppings made up for it. With the fresh fruit and crunchy granola, it was still very delicious.
Passionfruit Ade This was excellent, loaded with real passionfruit and refreshing in flavor. Definitely one of the highlights.
Fig & Blueberry Greek Yogurt The yogurt bowl was topped with granola, honey, and figs. The fruit was very fresh, and the combination of flavors worked beautifully.
Grilled Sweet Fig Toastie We didn’t realize it wasn’t vegetarian, it came with both bacon and cheese, so our pescatarian daughter couldn’t eat it. That said, the sandwich itself was very good: the bread was fresh and the flavors well balanced.
Other Drinks Our daughter had the lemonade and said it was “good enough.” The oatmeal grain latte was not coffee-based, which wasn’t clear on the menu, and it wasn’t to our liking.
Ambiance The café is housed in a cute wooden shed with a cozy, rustic atmosphere. Presentation of all the dishes was lovely, and it was nice to see a few locals...
Read moreThis is my first ever review, just had the urge to write one because of the experience. I was brutally forced here by my girlfriend because she was craving a more Scandinavian breakfast, thought to my self “damn we really traveled all the way to Korea, just to eat Greek yogurt?” I’m glad I kept that thought to my self, this little hidden gem was a great escape from all the city noise and my god was the food delicious, sure did I need both a yogurt and a sandwich to stay full? Yep, but for the price of 20000won for that and a cold drink I will take it. The only blemish is that they don’t serve coffee, ordered an oatmeal latte, thinking it would be a coffee latte made on oatmilk. Instantly laughed when I tasted it, said to my girlfriend I would loose all masculinity if people knew I drank this back home. But I went in for seconds, thirds and suddenly it was all gone. Now that’s how oatmilk should taste, and I have no shame in telling the world it’s amazing. Safe...
Read moreRarely do I give low graded reviews. I came just in time for the opening and asked for an English review I was told to get a seat (there were plenty at the time) I was confused whether I had to be seated and then approach for food or would I be approached? After what seemed like eternity I came over and asked for guidance and inquired regarding vegetarian sandwiches but then opted for the granola yogurt - I asked for a recommendation and got one of the starred yogurts that said berry and seasonal fruit - didn’t get any berry or honey as mentioned. As for the drink - the ice Jeju green tea is just a regular tea bag😜 I have waited for quite a while to get the drink and the bowl and no one even apologized for the long wait, and it wasn’t even that crowded. I was wishing for a good experience but got laughed upon...
