Sorry to say this but the owner favors foreigners over Korean people because the owner is known for over pricing the drinks amongst them.
I went in not knowing about this (didn’t look them up) and there was no menu or price for anything to be seen.
Also, we asked if there was a food menu and the owner said no but it is okay to bring outside food, so we did. But then he tells us 8 times how smelly our food is…. (it was pho) and how it is disrespectful to eat something like that in a “high level bar” of his.
Yes, food can be smelly and so I apologized… over and over again. But he went on about how he doesn’t like Korean customers… I am Korean but I grew up in the states, so this was very hurtful in many ways.
Anyways, I wasn’t alone so I tried to ignore the chat so I still got two beers and one glass of whiskey and got charged 60,000won. which is a ridiculous amount in Korea… and when I saw how other foreign customer got charged for their two glasses of whiskey.
However, I don’t mind the price if the place is worth it but it wasn’t. The owner’s comments were just not appropriate. I overheard the owner talking to other foreign customers and it was not like how he talked to me and my friend.
He was scolding me and my friend for a whole hour… For christ sake I am 30yrs old and I also own a food business myself. I didn’t tell him I understood English nor talked back because it was just ridiculous. I simply nodded and ignored and drank as fastest I can and left.
You should never say things like that to anyone. Telling Korean customers how you don’t want Korean customers coming in because they left you bad reviews for overcharging them?
Not having a menu with a price on is illegal in Korea. Just not acceptable and he gets offended if you ask.
I just feel ashamed and frustrated by the...
Read moreDuring my entire 9 months visit, this owner was by far the worst example of customer service I've encountered in all of Korea. Based on the reviews, here's what you need to know. Depending on the day or time you visit, you may get a different version of the owner. You may get the one that hides his bitterness and callous contempt for life behind showering customers with gifts, forcing a stiff robotic smile across his face. Every interaction seems disingenuous and the owner could care less about every customer's overall experience.
The menu lists an Old Fashioned Drink with Jim Beam Pre-Prohibition Rye, and the owner initially REFUSES to allow a customer to change Bourbons. Well, in the end that Old Fashioned with Jim Beam Pre-Prohibition Rye did absolutely nothing to enhance the drink, minus adding some spice, which still delivered an underwhelming classic drink. Clearly, not the best choice Rye. Then suddenly, the owner decided a Woodford Reserve Old-Fashioned somehow would cost an incredible 70,000(KRW)!!! I'm not sure if this price or the case of bad botox and bleached frizzy hair was more laughable. (circa 80s Pauly Shore hair)
The owner could certainly benefit from some etiquette classes for the hospitality industry. He's certainly a prima donna type owner that's more preoccupied with his ego than business longevity. Instead, hire real people to interact with real customers.

Read moreLove this place and been going to it regularly for a while, great atmosphere, lots of choices for whiskey and beer, BUT a few things I’d like to point out just in case you decide to go here:
There’s no food except some snacks (pretzels, crackers, etc)- which can definitely be a deal breaker for some people, so keep that in mind. Although you are allowed to order food to the bar if you’d like/bring food with you. According to other reviews, there is no menu, and while thats KIND OF true, the owner has recently begun writing the currently stocked beers on the entrance door (along with alcohol levels and price), and there is a small menu of whiskeys if you ask for it. I’d say its more encouraged to either 1) know what kind of whiskeys u like beforehand or 2) browse the wall of available drinks to make your choice. Probably the point most people might have an issue with, is the pricing. It DEFINITELY is on the pricier end of bars/pubs, we’re talking 10,000won~18,000won per glass (which tbh, is why I think you’ll often find wealthy traveling business men here lol). But I’m assuming its because most of the alcohol carried here is from different parts of the world, so it’s going to cost more. I totally get why this would turn people off so I wanted to point that out.
With those in mind, if you do what a not-to-loud, cozy place to chat and have beer/whiskey with friends, I totally...
