TOURIST TRAP : DON’T GO THERE IF YOU’RE NOT SPANISH !

First of all, I’m joining all the other reviews on Google : food is very good, but there is no prices on the menu. The waiter can charge you everything he wants on the bill. That’s what happened to me. I went for lunch yesterday and I took 3 tapas : jamon iberico (14€), asparagus (14€ too !!!), and pulpo a la gallega (14€). Total was 42€ for only 3 tapas, which is already super expensive for Spain and such a little family restaurant like this, and the waiter also charge me the butter on the table ! When I was looking at the waiter on the cash machine, I immediately knew something was wrong : he was literally putting his own price into the check system ! Usually all the prices are ALREADY into the system, but not in this restaurant … that’s the first time I see this ! He was literally typing a random price into the system (14€ per tapas in my case). This morning a friend called this restaurant to take away the exact same courses I took 24 hours before. For him, the price was 43€ for 2 tapas !!! For me 42€ for 3 tapas … what a discount ! Anyway, that’s a pity because the food is very good, the problem is that there is NO PRICE on the menu, and depending if you’re Spanish, a tourist, or a friend of the waiter, the price will be...

Tourist trap! You don’t have a menu with the prices (this is illegal) but the owner ensures you everything will be fine and if you ask he won’t tell you the prices (this again is illegal) but since he seems to be an honest person you trust him. The food is 4/5 stars which is reasonably good but the prices are high (you get the same quality for half the price around the corner in that same street in the Spanish Tablao gastro bar) and you will always find “mistakes” in the bill. For example he tried to charge us 19€ for each glass of wine thing that we complained about and he ended up fixing it after we started to make a bit of noise. It’s a pity that a place like this one which is nice and with reasonably good food have these issues. Clearly focused on fooling the tourists (despite the food is good) that lower the balance to 1 star. Honesty is...

Si buscas un restaurante con comida casera de calidad en un ambiente cálido y acogedor, La Alacena es definitivamente la opción perfecta para ti. Además, el menú ofrece una gran variedad de opciones caseras, todas ellas preparadas con ingredientes de alta calidad. Desde los exquisitos platos de pescado, las deliciosas carnes y las ensaladas, hasta los postres .
