We had visited Jamon Jamon before the refurbishment and looked forward to returning. We waited 35 minutes for our order to arrive, after prompting, and whilst the Braised Bull's Tail that I ordered was very tasty it was far too small a portion. Served with just mashed potato it was overall a little disappointing. However the Iberico Pork that my wife ordered was appalling. One piece overcooked and tough and the other had so much fat/gristle that the steak knife couldn't cut it. Served with only mushrooms and walnuts the majority was left on the plate. The young waiter apologised, but that was all. He did not seem to know how to handle the complaint. I paid in full, as I do not know how Spanish law views a refusal to pay or the offer of a lesser payment. Had I been at home in the UK I would have refused to pay the full amount and I know that I would have been within my legal rights to do so. We then went and spoke with the receptionist, who again was apologetic, but there was no attempt at a service recovery at all. I would have expected her to obtain our details for a follow up by management. We were both still hungry and went across the road to Casa Maria where we ordered a take away pizza. I sent an email to the hotel management detailing this experience, putting on my telephone number, and offered to speak in person whilst I was still staying nearby for another 5 days. I received a reply from the Managing Director, Charlotte K. Abildtrup, on the day I left saying safe flight home and offering to refund. I provided my bank details BUT 3 days later Charlotte sent another email saying that said she had spoken with the Head Waiter and that he said that we had left "clean" plates and could not understand why we had not told them that we did not like the pork. This would have been the Head Waiter that we never saw, were never offered chance to speak to and the young waiter that we showed the part eaten pork on the half full plate and told it was awful. So basically a very very poor meal and then all but called a liar by the Managing Director. We will not go back now, which is such a shame. It wasn't that busy and such a bad experience could have...
Read moreMarch 2022: This is the restaurant from the hotel. Coming from outside you better book a table. The dinner offer is a menu with starter and main course. You can have olives/bread/cheese and desert from the buffet. All this for 22€. The view over the ocean is very nice, the tables and chairs are comfortable, there is a corner with few toys for kids to play, there is a terrace by nice weather. We found this was a great package and this is the only place we visited twice during our stay on Tenerife. Food was always tasty and of good size. The restaurant is not for you if you neither eat...
