Snack-Bar Champion — Restaurant in Alcúdia

Service was non existing, not happy or welcoming. Actually as we walked in a worker walked past us out to the street. After us previously turning up early and no one mentioning that they not actually open yet.

The 2 stars are more for the coffee than anything else it was nice and hot.

Breakfast was the biggest let down. Its a good price but the food really wasn't up to standard reminds me of a breakfast that a trucker or lorry driver would grab while on the road. Hash brown was greasy. Mushrooms and tomatoes both from the tin. Sausages and bacon both over cooked I could barely get my fork through the sausage. Bacon was very salty.

The biggest issue was having to fight a wasp away every 2 minutes I actually gave up eating my breakfast. Not souly the restaurants fault but they could have citronella candles to help.

We then had to wait ages for plates to be taken and all we were asked is if we were finished not if it was OK. Nevermind.

Wasn't asked if we wanted anything else then had to wait longer for the bill which I then asked for as I wanted to leave. Sadly our experience wasnt the same as those that have previously reviewed and...

Love this bar. Have been coming here for more years than I can remember and the staff are all great, with some of them being there for more than one season, Kim and Yasmeen and now the new 'star' is Michelle, a fellow Yorkshire lass. Should definitely mention Iwona who I remember from years ago. I think she must only work day time shifts these days as I've seen her when walking past, but haven't seen her when I've visited in the evening. I remember she always used to cycle to Champion and push her bike through the bar into the back. Outstanding food here, I had the champion breakfast and my wife had the child’s breakfast, which was more than enough for her, and my son had a quarter of roast chicken with chips and swapped the salad for beans and he said it was the juiciest tasty roast chicken he’s ever had. And from a 11 year old that’s fussy about foods.. that in its self is a major compliment. He ate it so fast, I didn’t get chance to take a photo. This place even has a play area for kids at the rear and plenty of spaced out seating. I would highly recommend this place. And a few of the staff come from England so there is no language barrier to worry about. And we were very impressed...
