I dare to say this is the best restaurant in Alicante. I use google map often to find good restaurants, I went to around 15 very high google map score and reviews restaurant in Alicante. And this is the best. Generally most of restaurants in Alicante are very satisfiable, but this one is different. They have 140 different menus and whatever I ordered I was just so touched by each menu. Many locals come, they have a English menu both in paper and digital. Though digital version of menu is little bit hard to read. But it is guaranteed that whatever you order it will surprise you. The atmosphere itself is very authentic too, you feel very comfortable with the shape of their table and chair. The table has two stories which is perfect setting for tapas menu, you can share the menu easily, the service is also great, friendly staff, timely food and great explanations too. The sandwiches were surprisingly good, though Canape is cut sandwiches, not whole different menu. Lomo, jamon, entrecote, combination with mayonaise and pepper, you are in heaven. From the wall, they attached many news articles, I think this place was reported many times. I visited 4 times, there were always many people but if you arrive 8pm you don't need to queue. (I think from 9-10pm there are little waitings). Sitting in front of bar can be very authentic too. I strongly strongly recommend! I will visit Alicante for...
Read moreEl Canto - To put it simply, don't bother going anywhere else if you're looking for authentic Tapas. The Ramblas (boulevards) are full of Tapas & are tempting to tourists like us, yet El Canto has a pride & history which comes through in each & every dish. Open since 1984, the primary clientele are Locals, not tourists; the prices & quality reflect this. Really relaxed environment, table service, daily specials (Wednesdays offering an absolute stunner), draft beer with your dishes are the popular choice, but don't knock the house red, very palatable. The Tuna Jerkey, small sandwich (3 bites) delicious, menu so comprehensive it'll take a few visits to work our way through, and that's precisley what we'll be doing....
Read moreWe had a table of 10 English folks. We had to wait roughly 45 mins, but we were all happy to do so, the staff were helpful and let some of us sit at the bar for a drink whilst two tables became free. The staff were all very knowledgeable of the menu and food. When the food came it was incredibly tasty loads of flavour, good portions, and most importantly the timing. They placed two plates for our table, which we’d pass around and share, once we’d mostly eaten the next two came, and it carried on like this for a while. This for me was the best way to eat at a restaurant, it felt very welcoming and friendly in here. Classic, traditional Español food and environment. I would more...
