Great little place to spend some time in good company. AlteArte has cheerful owners and a nice clientele. They have rotating art exhibitions of mainly local artists, and have occasional music nights. It is worth keeping an eye out for their special events, like the vegan evening a few days ago. They also have language exchange evenings in the winter months. In the summertime, as with all bars in the Old Town (Casco Antiguo) of Altea, seating is at a premium and you may have to dodge the people queuing for tables at adjoining restaurants. Read moreThe most welcoming place we have found in the historical center, the outdoor seating is charming, and so is the indoor with many stairs. Toilets are right in the middle, so it does not matter which side you enter from, and are very clean.
We had nachos con carne and quesadilla con chorizo, both delicious and enough for 2 people.
We really enjoyed the Gin&Tonic Mediterráneo, it is not sweet, which is a very refreshing and welcome change to other G&Ts. The mojitos were also enjoyable.
