I have visited Quinoa several times and every time I go away with the same feeling: indifferent.

It promises more than it delivers. In the “healthy food” stakes, it has little competition. Only Plant Shack offers anything remotely similar.

The problem is the price:quality relationship. The “fresh” juices cost 5€, which is above average. But, my pineapple-cranberry-lemon juice was pretty tasteless and came served in a plastic bottle. It makes sense to pre-prepare juices as they are labor intensive. But to then juxtapose the plastic bottle with a bamboo straw is just...mediocre.

The sandwich was a spinach omelette with goat’s cheese and lettuce. The bread was tasteless and day-old. The frittata lacked any zing whatsoever. The goat’s cheese and lettuce was just...indifferent. And, 8€ for an egg sandwich, in Spain, is above average pricing for below average food.

I am sure that the people running Quinoa have a concept and wish to deliver style and quality. But I always leave the same..:indifferent. With a little more panache and care I think it could live to its own promise. But for now, I go along if taken, but would...

Me and my girlfriend went down to the Harbour in Altea and found Quoina, we thought it was a nice looking bar. We went in and sat down, it took at least 15 minutes for anyone to notice us and take our order. They have a bell on the table which you press to get the waiters attention. It’s pointless. It doesn’t work and I’d have more chance of being served by waving my arms and jumping about. We then made our order which was a Water, Iced Coffee, a chicken salad and a tuna toasted sandwich.

We sat there for another 35-45 minutes whilst we waited for our food, looking around to the staff just sitting down having their lunch. Again, no one came to give us an update on our food. We finally had to get up and ask where our food was, we were met with confused faces and that the food had never been started in the first place. No one had a clue what was going on, between them having a laugh and a joke and having their own lunch no one bothered. This customer service completely ruined our afternoon and then to be charged €8.50 for a coffee and water? Don’t go here, unless you have a full afternoon to wait...

Overpriced and underwhelmed.

We have been many times over the last two years because my husband is coeliac. The last few times I’ve felt that the choice for me has been extremely limited (vegetarian) and that the club sandwiches were not nearly as nice as previously. The last 3 times it was. A piece of dry bread with a slice of cheese, this time the same but with a piece of lettuce and tomato. There is absolutely no flavour in the sandwiches. Previously I’ve had packed sandwiches with flavoursome cheese, strawberries, you name it. So. We went on Friday and were charged €32 for 2 coffees, 2 tins of Fanta and 2 club sandwiches. Completely tasteless sandwich and pricey!!!!!!...

We simply had an amazing time here. Martin was born to host and Adrian was born to chef. The food is a creative masterpiece designed with thought and love. Attention to detail is exquisite. The atmosphere in Quinoa is emotional and this due to the care and love this place has been designed. This is a truly unique experience and if you are looking for next level service and food quality then this is the place for you. Thank you so much for giving us a fantastic evening, we will be back!!!

I was very disappointed with the service, we sat down and had to wait ten minutes just to get the menu, to be fair on the waiter it did seem quite busy. We ordered some water while having a look at the menu and waited another ten minutes to order and decided it was best to look else where. I'm sure this doesn't happen all the time and maybe some day I'll give it a second chance as the food being served look lovely.
