First impressions of the waitress were good - she made us feel welcome and conversed with us in English. However, it was not long before we realised that she was ripping us off, offering us starters that were not on the menu and completely over priced. Luckily we only ordered one of her suggestions - a very small garlic pizza to share between 6 of us that was basically a child’s portion and cost 14 euros. The main meals were also very overpriced and the lasagne was like a microwave meal. Didn’t seem ‘homemade’ as the waitress described. The worst part was the owner. We had two fish meals that were inedible, so we politely returned them. The owner was incredibly rude, putting his fingers in my food to taste it saying ‘it seems fine to me.’ He hastily removed our plates and we were not offered anything else, so 2 out of 6 of us did not eat. When we finally requested the bill, the owner came over and told us ‘I removed the fish meals’ as if he was doing us a favour. I also noticed a service charge had been added to the bill so I asked the waitress what it was and said we didn’t want to pay it given our experience. She then decided that she could no longer speak English and only responded in Spanish knowing full well that we couldn’t understand her. Save your money and do not go to this place. We were on holiday in Altea for 3 weeks and this was by far the worst restaurant we went to and probably the worst restaurant we have...
Read moreSorry to say after spending 7 nights in Altea this was by far the worst meal we have had. All the food seemed to be supermarket quality. Spaghetti carbonara came in a pot and was absolutely swimming in a cream sauce that my son described as milk with ham. My wife had the crepe which again came with what can only be described as a milk sauce. My daughter had a pizza, now the quality of pizza we have had previously has been excellent but this was a grease soaked oily mess that can only be described as a Dr Otka pizza done very badly. Me, I had the Canalonni, this was ok, very cheesy but not worth the €17. 2 X cokes 2 X small beers 2 X Tinto de verano plus 4 mains came to an eye watering rip off of €98. Average over the 7 nights was about €85 across the 6 different restaurants we went to and this was by far the most expensive with the lowest quality food. We complained about the pizza and all we got was "that's the type of pizza you ordered" and a shrug of the shoulders. Please stay clear of this place as they not only let themselves down but also the excellent restaurants around them. Obviously they do not read or care about these reviews and rely on thier location to mugg tourists...
Read moreA waiter found us a table and were quick to take our drink order. But, you are FORCED to order one full dish per person, in our case one of us werent capable of eating much so we asked if we could share a plate of carbonara. The waiter, rudely, kept pushing on different salads, half a salad, and other small dishes. We kept insisting that we wanted to share, the waiter had to talk to his boss if it was "ok"(?). We got our wish in the end,and we could share. Our dish was of bad quality, the price was 14€ and in this case it was not worth the money. When we were done, the waiter insisted AGAIN to make more food, telling us that we had been eating to little. We kept saying no,so he went over to the desserts, still saying no, he kept pushing no matter how many times we said "no thanks". When we asked for the bill he murmured something nasty.
You need to take google reviews with a pinch of salt, but in this case the bad reviews were right.
All in all, dont go there. Its a tourist trap, the staff is rude, the food is bad, spend your money...
