General area review notice:
let's just make one thing clear for the entire area. there are just a couple of restaurants in Camp de Mar and all of them have good food. the biggest difference between them that will influence my rating is the PRICE. most of the restaurants are expensive compared with other islands/ seaside resorts in the Mediterranean sea. Paying an average of 20+ euros per fish main with really small sides when you are an island feels a bit exaggerated.
restaurant review: this restaurant is in the hotel we stayed at which is a 4* resort so I can understand the price range for the food we get.
at the end of the day you get served a fine dining style meal that is very tasty BUT as a tourist that comes on their holiday I would expect a bit more food in my meal. it feels silly to order more mains (more euros out of my pocket) just to not feel hungry at the end of my lunch/dinner and I'm not a big guy that eats a lot.
you also get a really good view and the staff is lovely and just because of that I'm raising this to a 4/5
service is lovely 6/5 price 4/5 it would be a 3/5 if this wouldn't have been in a 4* resort food 5/5 portion size...
Read moreThis is my first review in over sixty years of eating out- necessitated by the need to warn others of the quality of the food… I had anticipated a delicious, romantic meal by the sea edge but instead ended up leaving early… Croquettes that were similar to Greggs- actually Greggs is better!- pork hoisin with mayo on top, chewy and revolting, a scallop sitting in a pale liquid. For the mains I had their ceviche which was served in a small bowl with a knife and fork, a custard, some pale pieces of limp squid and prawn, an avocado rammed in to fit, lots of vinegar sauce and some soggy corn kernels at the bottom. My partner had a gelatinous piece of fish encircled with a pinkish swirl of an armband of mush. The staff were embarrassed by the food and seemed generally uninterested- there were, I counted, six different waitresses serving just the four tables occupied (out of perhaps twenty five). I can take bad food if I have to but this was outrageously awful and I would strongly advise you to eat elsewhere in Camp de Mar. Sorry, but the chef needs to go and the owners need to rethink their...
Read moreAbsolute high-class restaurant and one of my rare recommendations that I've placed around the world! The owner is greeting you very friendly and present you the daily recommendation and the menus and has always a good hint for you in cases you are not sure about this or that offered plate or matching wine for your chosen menu. We tried the beef and I can day it was not only a highlight for the eyes as well for my tongue. The taste was really incredible and you have cut every last pieces in another two halves to have more of it. Really great. So for myself I like to try different offered steaks in the world but this was made really perfect, from the structure as well the taste.
But beside the menu, you will sitting in a kind of garden with view to the neighbours hotel-pool and on horizon the sea with some boats. In total, a very nice area to have a dinner and relaxing evening. We will come back for another great evening before we have to leave back home.
As last: it is recommend to book a table for...
