In short, outstanding service and great food. I've been hearing about this place for weeks and we decided to try. Being sincere, the out of date entrance and the old fashioned room made me doubt my decision... until the food came. We ordered 2 days in advance cachopos (suggested by a friend who said that it'll be better this way so they could prepared it in advance), they were huge, thick and delicious. Definitely to share, one could be enough for three people. We tasted the Gran Sol, El prederido de Martin, Foie and Gorgonzola. In my opinion, the best ones were Gran Sol, well combined ingredients and soft flavor, and the Foie, bold foie flavor. I'm a huge blue cheese fan, but the gorgonzola cachopo was to overwhelming, I ate an eighth of it and I couldn't have had any more. El preferido de Martin, was good, but the caramelized onion made it too sweet for me. I've talked to some Asturian friends and they said this cachopo looks as close as you can have it in Asturias. A friend of mine told me they have also great mallorcan dishes but I haven't tasted them. Talking about the staff, they were very attentive, friendly and efficient. The price was right according to what we ate and drank. So, a place where I will...

I was lucky enough to dine at Restaurant Gran Sol twice during my recent 10 day vacation in Camp de Mar, and both meals were outstanding. This hidden gem is now one of my favorite restaurants in the area.

During my first visit, I ordered the monkfish which was expertly cooked and incredibly flavorful. The fish was so fresh and the seasoning brought out the best in the delicate meat. My second time at Gran Sol, I opted for the steak which was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. Both entrees were accompanied by excellent sides that complemented the mains.

Aside from the fabulous food, the service at Gran Sol is relaxed and friendly. Our servers were attentive without being overbearing, and they took time to explain the menu and make recommendations. The prices are also very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the ingredients and preparation.

The ambiance is lovely as well, with a charming and cozy interior that makes you feel right at home. Gran Sol has it all - delicious food, warm service, charming atmosphere, and affordable prices. I couldn't recommend this Camp de Mar gem more highly. It's now my go-to restaurant when I'm in the area and...

We ate as a party of 5 on 4th July 2023. The food that I had was good - a goats cheese salad followed by chicken. However, the service was terrible. We had to chase them for our starters which came approximately an hour and 15 minutes after we placed our order. There was no preemptive information or apology from the staff. After we chased, we were told that this was because we had ordered paella for mains. I cannot understand why this would make our starters late which included 2 salads & calamari. There was a lack of empathy & apology from staff about the situation. They overcharged our bill - we had clearly ordered 2 portions of bread and not 5. Likewise, 2 glasses of beer and not 1. This was corrected but again after push back from the staff and a lack of apology. I do not normally post such negative reviews but the service we received was diabolical & off-hand. We have found service in restaurants & cafes in Majorca to generally be good...

Paid ~100EUR, and it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had in Spain. ❌ Food: • Smelly, frozen seafood served at a seaside restaurant — how is that even possible? • Fried baby squid (nearly €100!) had no real squid inside, just oily, deep-fried flour. • Grilled squid was frozen, burnt outside, raw and watery inside. Vegetables were cold and lifeless. • The raw fish we brought home turned sour in just 5 hours. Totally unacceptable. ❌ Drinks: • The “sangria” was basically cheap beer, soda water, and a weird fermented tofu flavor. • Worst sangria I’ve ever had in Spain, honestly. ❌ Service: • Told the waiter the fish smelled bad — he blamed me for “not understanding Spanish cuisine”. Ridiculous and rude. 📌 Final Verdict: This restaurant is overpriced, underwhelming, and borderline disrespectful to Spanish food culture. Please avoid — especially if you actually enjoy seafood. 可惜没有0星,太恶心了这顿饭,第一次说这么重的话。

Probably the best restaurant value for money in the area, as all the other ones are very pricey. The mains were very filling and the prices are razonable for the portions. We were 4 people and paid 140€ for starters, mains, beers, and a couple of desserts. For starters we had chipirones (small squid), gazpacho, cold melon soup. For mains: solomillo (good!), cod at Mallorquín style (good!), grilled calamari with garlic and fries (very good!), and cod with bechamel (average). The owner was very nice, he also speaks English. The place is 2mins walking from the beach, and they have a few parking spaces in the place for clients, no too many thou. -> I wish I could have tried the paella, since looked very nice and for a good price.
