Restaurante Charlys — Restaurant in Arona

Been to the renowned Charlys bar as heard it was a good place to eat. How very wrong it turned out to be. I don't normally do a starter but as in menu I decided on prawn cocktail and my wife had onion rings. The starters appeared within about 3-4 minster which may seem like gd service but no. The prawns all 5 of them were not properly shelled and served on a bed of limp brown lettuce and swamped in some gooey seafood sauce which was very bland. After getting waiters attention I was offered an alternative starter which I declined. My wife made it half way through her onion rings which she also said was bland. Main meal was chicken breast for myself in an onion sauce with again salad and chips, my wife had fish and chips but waiter was not even sure what fish it was in batter. Mains arrived in the next 10 minster but to my surprise another batch of brown lettuce in my salad, now once is once too much so I called waiter over again and asked if they had any fresh salad in their establishment. Now waiter takes it to not understand my problem and mutter something in he's native tongue and again offers me a different main. I gracefully decline and we leave to the dismay of other diners. Charleys is an absolutely fantastic restaurant! During our three-week stay at Paloma Beach Apartments, we stumbled upon this little gem only during the second week, and we're so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us warmly and provided attentive service throughout our visits.

We indulged in several meals here, and one thing's for sure - they don't skimp on portions! I ordered the steak with chips and onion rings, and I must say, even as a big eater, I was completely satisfied by the generous serving. Additionally, the garlic bread and spring rolls with sauce were absolutely delightful, enhancing the overall dining experience.

My partner opted for the chicken dish, and she was equally impressed. The flavors were outstanding, and she thoroughly enjoyed every bite.

As if the great food and friendly staff weren't enough, we were pleasantly surprised by the live singing performances that took place. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable, with everyone joining in on the fun and singing along.

If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and make sure to stop by Charleys. You won't be disappointed! The combination of delicious food, wonderful service, and entertaining live music makes it a must-visit...

Let me set the scene, my mother and I wanted breakfast and seen there was some others eating too and only wanted something small. We wore sitting for a solid 5 minutes before a man took our beverage order and brought us a menu.

Scanned the options and decided that the club sandwich would be ideal, the server then took a considerable amount of time to come back and when he did take our food order it took another 20 minutes for two toasted sandwiches to be made. The club sandwich was decent, filled a hole but I have never had an egg on a club sandwich before, I am not saying it was bad but definitely different.

After finishing the food it was like we wore forgotten about, we wore sat at the end of the restaurant closest table to the roundabout so definitely easy to lose track of orders but nobody came to tidy the table and I had to stand up to ask the server for the bill because I’d still be sitting there, he never came so I had to get up again to ask someone else… if I could give it 1.5...
