We came here for the forest v Newcastle game midweek. Good atmosphere and the majority of the staff are pretty decent. It took 45 minutes to get an ice coffee and over an hour to get a toastie. Not the end of the world though.
We have a disabled child who fidgets. Unfortunately through our visit she picked at a chair, we didn't see her doing it but the owner was watching her on CCTV. I left with her to go for a little walk, as soon as I left the dumpy little guy (I assume the manager) went to where my daughter was sat and pulled out 4 or 5 pieces of material of what my daughter had picked off the chair. He then said Infront of my other daughter and my wife "f**king kids". He told my wife what had happened and showed her the CCTV footage. The chairs all have rips and look dated but still my daughter shouldn't have picked at it. I said I would pay for the damage but I was unaware of what the dumpy server had said. The server then proceeded to show me a cropped screen shot of a similar chair at a cost of €180. The chair was already damaged as are many others in the bar so I said I'd pay half. I went to get some cash from the hotel, paid stumpy and watched the rest of the game. The following day we had a drive to IKEA and yes you guessed it the chair was in there at €50. My wife didn't say that stumpy had sworn in front of my wife about my daughter until the following evening. If I knew that he'd of got nothing from me. This is the opportunity for the bar to do the right thing, stumpy needs to apologize for the language used and as agreed I will pay for half a chair and the bar still keep the chair. This will result in a €60 refund for me. If someone does something in the bar, don't use it as an opportunity to be rude or an opportunity to get money from people. There's decent, honest people who will own up like we did and offer to pay for the damage. Let's be realistic, you are never going to replace the chair. I look forward to the reply, hopefully I can edit the review...
Read moreYOLO Sports Bar in Tenerife is nothing short of a revelation in the realm of mixology, cleverly disguised as a casual sports bar. Beneath the veneer of televisions flickering with football matches lies a hidden sanctuary for the discerning cocktail aficionado—a place where the art of drink-making is treated with the reverence it so richly deserves.
The passionfruit mojito, my first indulgence of the evening, was an ethereal experience. Each sip unfolded with the delicate sweetness of the passionfruit, harmoniously intertwined with the sharpness of freshly muddled mint and lime. The composition was flawless, with each ingredient singing its own note in a symphony of citrus, sweetness, and herbaceous depth—a modern reimagining of a classic that dared to push boundaries, and succeeded without question.
The White Russian, a drink often relegated to the kitsch end of the spectrum, was here transformed into a work of art. The velvety texture of the cream played delicately with the robustness of the coffee liqueur, while the vodka provided a steady undercurrent of warmth. The proportions were exact, as though the bartender had measured them with an almost scientific precision, crafting a drink that bordered on the divine.
And then, as if to crown the evening, came the daiquiri—a drink not ordered but bestowed, like a gift from the gods of mixology themselves. Its tang was electric, the perfect interplay of rum, lime, and sugar, presented with such grace and balance that it could only be described as transcendent. This was no ordinary cocktail; it was a testament to the bar’s deep understanding of the classics, elevating the daiquiri to a near-mythical status.
YOLO Sports Bar is a rare gem in the cocktail world, where the casual meets the sublime, and where each drink is crafted not merely as a beverage, but as an experience. For those who truly understand and appreciate the finer intricacies of cocktail alchemy, YOLO is nothing less than a pilgrimage-worthy...
Read moreWhat an amazing bar YOLO is in Playa's de las America's. One of the nicest Sports bars I've been to. Situated just a short distance from our hotel, a two minute walk. The bar is fantastically clean as are the toilets which is a great plus. Went there to watch our local team from the UK Derby County, thinking with the Atletico Madrid v Liverpool game being on, why would they have Derby on. I knew back home it was only showing on the red button. How wrong could I be. Spoke to a lovely guy Mikey, who couldn't do enough to get the Derby game on for us, on one of the TV's at the bar where we sat. Felt like we had our own personal TV. Never have I found someone abroad in a sports bar so obliging even though I said not to worry if he couldn't get it on. great signal, no buffering. Drinks reasonably priced and the cocktails to die for. What a brilliant bar with Mikey and the staff working ridiculously hard as the place was busy. Great atmosphere and thanks again Mikey. We will be back .🐏 Come...
