Sorrentino's — Restaurant in Artà

TLDR: This was by far the worst out of 7 tried restaurants in Arta.

If you have to wait exactly 2h from ordering till you get a less than average tasting pizza, then something is wrong in that place. As a staff member of a restaurant serving food, you should know what the "olive ascolane" are filled with exactly and not guess wrongly (2 waitresses didn't know). When you make a pizza vegetariana, don't burn the vegetables, this is what a customer will eat and nobody signed up for coal. If a customer when asked if all was good tells a waitress it took a bit too long and the waitress just leaves without a comment, this is the moment when you have to give public feedback showing the lack of competency. It's unreasonable to see that this restaurant has such a high rating but such a bad service. Answer on the comment of the owner: It took you 1 month to react to a clients feedback and then you start by offending on a childish level - thank you for publicly showing how bad you handle your restaurant and feedback. You claim not to be a fast food restaurant, but 2h is the time you expect for a 5-10 course menu and not a really bad pizza (self made or not, the dough was average, the baking was average, the vegetables were burnt to coal, there is no such thing as coaled pepper or burnt eggplant on pizzas). It is your job to find adequate personnel at all times, failing to do so shows only the incompetencies of the ones running the restaurant incl. the owner apparently. Instead of apologizing and asking for us to come back again to see that you are willing to improve and that you maybe had a bad day, you shared useless excuses and belittle client feedback, bad gastronomy...

Watch out for that old waitress. She‘ll take your order, won‘t write anything down, mess up the whole thing and then start arguing about it.

No seriously. Could have been a nice dinner. Our order was taken from the older waitress. So far nothing to be bothered about. She then came with the main course and then, 30 seconds later came up with the wrong starter. Not sure why I should have my dinner reverse but fair enough - these things happen. As I told her that that what was served is not the Food that I ordered she started arguing and insisted I ordered it. Pretty wild as the food she came up with is something I‘d Never order because I don‘t like it. After arguing for a solid Minute she took it back to the kitchen and left me with the cold main course. Solid 4/10. she then came back with my starter later..

All in all, absolute terrible service from that Lady. The younger staff was pretty nice and friendly. Felt sorry for them to have to work there.

And as I‘ve seen the comments of the owner: there was no busy night, national holiday or any event in town. This evaluation is just based on the lack of Service mentality of that...

Lovely setting in the main square of Arta. Generous portions and fresh food. It's a lovely touch that tyere are homemade pasta dishes on an exciting menu. Clearly, the team cares about what they are doing.

There were some unexpected hitches which detracted from the experience, which was more enjoyable for being on holiday than sat in the restaurant. Service slow and understaffed (high season, but three staff in total). Always a red flag when a waiter says "my colleague needs to take the food order". The front of House was friendly and worked frantically, but couldn't possibly get round all the tables fast enough. Food good but unspectacular and with starter + main we left at 11pm having sat down for 830. Sound food but look elsewhere for...
