Stumbled upon this hidden gem in the charming neighborhood of Sarriá - Bistrot 21 Mars is truly a one-of-a-kind establishment that defies easy categorization. Run by the dynamic duo of Marco (Italian) and Rudy (French), this small bistro blends cultural influences in the most delightful way. What immediately strikes you about Bistrot 21 Mars is its singular character. Neither fully French nor Italian, it exists in its own unique culinary universe. The space is intimate and cozy, with a playful décor that makes you feel instantly at home while keeping your eyes wandering to discover new quirky details. Marco and Rudy are the heart and soul of this place - extraordinarily welcoming, charismatic hosts who treat you more like friends than customers. Their passion for food and hospitality is evident in every interaction. They take the time to explain dishes, share stories, and create a genuinely warm atmosphere that's increasingly rare in the restaurant scene. We ordered a charcuterie board for three which was generously portioned with a thoughtful selection of cured meats. The real standouts, however, were the eight large servings of parmigiana and vegetable lasagna we shared. Both dishes showcased a perfect balance of flavors - comfort food elevated to something special through quality ingredients and careful preparation. What makes this place even more interesting is that they're relatively new to the Sarriá neighborhood, and apparently haven't yet been told the local legend about Jesus Christ and Sarriá. I gave them a first warning during our visit, but I'm curious to see if someone will eventually share the complete legend with them. It's these little cultural exchanges that make dining experiences memorable. Bistrot 21 Mars is exactly what neighborhood dining should be - personal, unpretentious, and full of character. It's refreshing to find a place that doesn't fit neatly into a box but instead creates its own identity through the personalities of its owners and the quality of its offerings. Absolutely incredible! This little mix of Italian and French wine and cuisine in Barcelona, the food and the wine is to die for. The hospitality of the owners is absolutely amazing. We had a red French wine he recommended, along with a little cheese board; probably the best I have had in Spain. The star of the meal though was an eggplant dish, thinly sliced eggplant layered with mozzarella and topped with Parmesan; this is a dish I will remember forever! So much flavor. ¿Habéis “chenato”? -Pregunta Marco, uno de los dueños del bar. -Un poco – digo yo Marco se encontraba cortando unos trozos de queso con una tranquilidad envidiable hoy en día. -Tened. Corta un par de trozos de queso parmigiano y los pincha con el cuchillo para después acercárnoslo.

Soy vecino de 21 mars, compartimos la misma calle. Hace un par de años aproximadamente que este bistrot desembarcó en Manuel de falla. Hacia tiempo que no se veía por el barrio bocanada igual de aire fresco en la hostelería sarrianenca. Los padres de este rincón son Rudy y Marco, Marco y Rudy. Una pareja perfecta que conjuga el arte italiano con la sensibilidad francesa. Ellos son los propietarios y también los que sirven. Uno siente que le han invitado a su casa. Ambos gozan de señorío, clase y educación. Consiguen teletransportarte a otro lugar. Un viaje gastronómico y cultural. Porque tienen otras maneras de hacer, porque plasman sus saberes franco-italianos tanto en cocina como en la decoración. Si te duchas, te pones guapo y te echas colonia, no desentonarás con el entorno. Pocos tienen más gusto y criterio con la luz que Rudy y Marco. Y, cuánto vale que un francés te hable de sus vinos.., o un italiano de lo bueno que es la mortadela... Cuánto vale lo nuevo, aprender lo diferente. A 21 mars puedes ir acompañado o puedes ir solo, aunque es perfecto para ir a cenar con tu mujer, tu novia o para tomarte un par de Gintonics con tus amigos y desconectar.
