Stopped here before our 1pm booking for Can Sole (which I regret and don't recommend) round the corner. It was a blazingly hot day and a cold beer was critical and so I had a couple while we sat in the window which is an open air seating area allowing you to overlook Placa del Poeta Bosca. The bar was quirky although the barman, whilst nice, felt no sense of urgency when serving. Communicating was a lot of pointing and minimal Spanish from me "uno canya por favor"... I should be trying to speak Spanish. I am the tourist and the onus is on me to learn their language but after a little more struggling, it turned out he could speak good English. Fair enough...he wasn't obliged to speak to me in English and he did me a favour by making me speak Spanish but it could have saved a lot of pointing... Not sure of the cost but I don't think it was...
Read moreIâd heard a lot about this bar- looks like a great local spot, overlooking the plaza, quirky designed interior, not too busy. The most Iâve probably paid in Barcelona, even more than the highly tourist spots right next to the beach. 3,50⏠per bottle of Estrella Galicia- WTF?! Iâm almost certain we were charged âguiriâ prices- where the locals take advantage of tourists and have a higher price when they think youâre not a local. Iâm pretty shocked- if it was a tactic to make sure we didnât return, then it definitely worked. Avoid the rip-off, and head to any of the local bars nearby- you wonât pay...

The bar girl in the dreads was more interested in snogging her girlfriend in the middle of the inner doorway. And when we returned our empty glasses and thanked her, she ignored us and carried on flirting with a regular. So do yourself a favour, and sort your attitude out because you come across as a cliche crusty and a...
