What was supposed to be a relaxing day at the beach turned into one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. I was at Sant Miquel Beach in Barcelona, enjoying the sun and the sea, trying to unwind from the daily stresses of life. The water was refreshing, and for a moment, everything felt perfect.

But that peace was suddenly shattered. As I was swimming, out of nowhere, I felt a sharp, excruciating pain in my eyes. In a split second, I realized that someone had thrown a stone at me, hitting me directly in the face.

The shock was overwhelming. I struggled to keep my balance, the pain in my eyes making it hard to see clearly. Fear and confusion took over as I tried to understand what had just happened. Why would someone do this? What could possibly drive a person to throw a stone at a complete stranger?

I stumbled out of the water, my heart racing, my eyes throbbing with pain. I looked around, but there was no sign of the person who did this. I felt vulnerable, scared, and alone in a place that should have been safe and carefree.

I immediately informed the police, hoping they would help me find the person responsible for this senseless act. But to my dismay, they seemed indifferent, treating the incident as though it were just another minor occurrence. Their lack of concern only added to the trauma of the day.

Now, as I sit here, still processing what happened, I can’t help but feel a mix of anger, fear, and sadness. That stone didn’t just hit my eyes; it shattered my sense of safety. What started as a day of relaxation turned into a nightmare, one that I’ll never forget.

I’m sharing this because I want people to understand that these things can happen, even in broad daylight at a busy beach. No one should have to go through what I did, and I hope that by telling my story, it brings some awareness to the senseless violence that unfortunately exists...

I'm local here, if not desperate, I won't go to Barcelona beach. Today, I took my boys there because I promised them a beach picnic.

nightmare started immediately after we arrived, every 30 seconds, someone came up selling his pareo... I'm not exaggerating, we using our best speed set up ourselves, because I know they won't stop till they see I have proper BIG picnic matt.

as I hoped to get peace, nothing as such is offered by the beach, because next is people coming asking Beer? majito? sangria?... oh my goodness, Non-stop!!!!

after many rounds of No, No, No... drinks people get less, I'm guessing all drinks vendors being rejected by me.

Don't you dare to think silence is ever available? because almost immediately, many women passing by: massage seniora?

I yelled! NO NO NO... she mumbled something and went away, and then the next one....

then I took my boys to enjoy the water, have I said I expected beach wave sound only? Nope, at this time, there is a loud speaker repeating: no vendors are licensed to sell any pareo, drinks or providing service on the beach.

will I go again? NOPE, confirmed this is the only time I would go to Barcelona beach.

None of these spoiled my boys...
