Clara Restaurant — Restaurant in Barcelona

This place has a nice ambiance, but the food, wines, and service do not fit together at all. Regarding the menu, some of the wines are from small wineries that don’t guarantee quality, and it’s not clear what you’re actually drinking (just because they say it’s additive-free natural wine doesn’t mean I should believe it without question). The bottle prices are quite inflated. I know the industry, and I know what I’m talking about. The portions on the plates are scarce and somewhat bland, and the service lacks knowledge about wines. I went to check it out with high expectations based on social media photos, but unfortunately, it’s not a place I would return to as it lacks anything special. Between two diners, we spent around 140 euros on two dishes, an appetizer, and a bottle of questionable wine—seemingly a bit expensive for the service and what we received. I was excited to try the new restaurant Clara in Barcelona, but it ultimately didn’t meet my expectations, especially with the food. Everything was mediocre, but the duck dish was particularly disappointing. It was tough and nearly impossible to chew, forcing me to swallow large pieces. This issue might have been due to undercooking or a poor selection of meat. The large portion size only compounded the disappointment, making it an effort to finish the dish. We conveyed our dissatisfaction to the waiter, and were kindly offered a dessert to make up for the experience, which was a thoughtful gesture. However, I don’t plan to return. The restaurant needs to pay more attention to the preparation of meat and poultry. If they can’t cook it properly, it really defeats the purpose of offering it. I hope they take this feedback into consideration...

Stuff is rude, we constantly felt like they want to kick us out. Even though we ordered main dishes and wines. I felt pressured drinking faster my glass of wine, cause waiters kept asking 5 times about more orders. When we placed an order, waiter was annoyed that it’s not that many dishes (4 and wine) and we said we might order more later. In response he said “if there is more time for this”. It was 8pm! Also twice they told me and my friend that came early that my reservation doesn’t exist, which was said very careless and rude. Awaiting for this reservation and then being treated like we are broke foreigners is unacceptable.. I must say, that food is good and special. But with this service it wasn’t about nice food...
