El Ñaño | Lepant — Restaurant in Barcelona

We found this restaurant through Google Maps because it wasn't a far walk from our hotel and it had a massive amount of high ratings. Another plus was that it's open late and we are late eaters that found ourselves looking for a place that was open at 9:30pm. Feeling a little skeptical of all the high ratings, we decided to try it out and see for ourselves. I have to say, what the masses say is true. This place is amazing. We had Moises as our waiter and he was a huge part on why we decided to come back again on our last night in Barcelona. His customer service was outstanding and we loved his laid back vibe. If you go, ask for Moises!

We ordered the ceviche, some combination plates, and the mixed fried rice. As others have mentioned, the portions are BIG. There was a lot of prawns and tuna in the ceviche and it had great flavor. My dish was the fried bream with the avocado salad. We all agreed that the avocado salad was amazing. Lots and lots of avocado and it was a refreshing way to start the meal. The fish came out steaming hot and perfectly cooked. We all shared the mixed fried rice and devoured as much as we could. Except we were so full.

What an amazing meal that we were so lucky to have experienced TWICE in our short time in Barcelona. We are definitely coming back the next time we find ourselves in this...

🇪🇸: Primero de todo, voy a aclarar que como persona que valora la alimentación, la vida sana por encima de todo y siguiendo la dieta cetogénica carnívora voy a decir lo siguiente. De todos los sitios en los que he estado comiendo a lo largo de los últimos años este se lleva la palma de uno de los más saludables en cuanto a comida ofrecida e ingredientes que la componen.

En segundo lugar, los platos venían TAL Y COMO los presentaba la carta. Me atrevo a decir ENORMES y muy ABUNDANTES en ingredientes. Uno no se quedaría con hambre ni siquiera con los bocatas que rebozaban de carne y verduras. Dedico una frase más a este punto para recalcar que las imágenes primero que no engañan y segundo los platos son deliciosamente preparados. El tiempo de espera fue MUY CORTO. Entre 8-10 minutos y eso que pedimos 2 platos diferentes y 2 bocatas que trajeron posteriormente. También nos trajeron una especie de salsa de tomate picante instantáneamente al sentarnos en la mesa y dos piezas de medio limón partido. Se agradece el detalle de la rapidez.

En siguiente lugar, quiero comentar el trato de los camareros y camareras. Fue servicial y neutro cosa que se agradece, pero yo personalmente prefiero un poco más de cercanía y sonrisa en las caras. Por otro lado, entiendo que por la abundancia de la gente que debían atender uno prioriza la velocidad que la plática o la cara de fingida felicidad. Me ha gustado esta autenticidad sin sentimiento fingido, aunque debo remarcar que en una de las mesas ajenas se derramó una bebida y no se pidieron disculpas a los clientes. Dejo por aquí esta pequeña puntualización de mejora.

Finalmente, el ambiente es suficientemente cómodo para uno conversar y pasarlo bien, pero por la muchedumbre que el establecimiento abarcaba y los asientos muy básicos y pequeños yo me llegaba a sentir apretado y agobiado a ratos. Sin embargo, dejo un 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐, porque estas pequeñas molestias no oscurecieron el buen rollo.

🇺🇸/🇬🇧: First of all, I will clarify that as a person who values nutrition, healthy life above all and following the ketogenic carnivore diet I will say what follows next. Of all the places where I have been eating during the last years this one takes the cake of the healthiest in what refers of food and ingredients composing it.

In second place, the dishes were arriving JUST as the menu was presenting them. I dare to say ENORMOUS and very ABUNDANT in ingredients. One would not be left hungry even with the sandwiches which were overflowed by meat and vegetables. I am dedicating one more sentence to this point so to accentuate that the images firstly were not tricky and secondly the dishes were deliciously prepared. The wait time was VERY SHORT. It was between 8-10 minutes taking into account that we ordered 2 different dishes and 2 sandwiches that were brought posteriorly. They also brought us some sort of spicy tomato sauce instantaneously when we sat on the table and two slices of a medium lemon. I am appreciate the speed detail.

Next in line, I want to comment the treatment of the waiters and waitresses. It was helpful and neutral for which I am thankful, but I usually prefer a little bit more closeness and smile in the faces. On the other hand, I also understand that because of the abundance of the people who they had to attend one prioritizes velocity over chat or the face of faked happiness. I liked this authenticity without feigned feelings, although I have to highlight that a drink was spilled on one of the nearby tables and no apologies were made to the clients. I leave here this little point out of improvement.

Finally, the environment is comfortable enough for one to converse and have a good time, but the swarm the establishment was able to cover and the little and tight seats made me feel overwhelmed and squeezed for short intervals of time. However, I leave 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ because these small botherings did not obscured...

IF I COULD ONLY GIVE -1 STAR, I WOULD! The service is terrible, the food is worst! They put some spicy something on the table without letting us know that is 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶! Really? How can you not train your waiters to tell people that is very very very spicy 🥵, maybe someone has heart problems or something, JESUS MARY AND CHRIST. No one speaking English, it took 15 minutes to manage to order, everyone was running away…..FOOD IS TERRIBLE(Big portions indeed but that’s all. We ordered a seafood rice, every seafood in it it was from frozen, tasted as nothing, at least 1 kg of that, very bad! Deep fried ribs…OMG, never tasted something bad and filled with fat, barely had meat on them. Lentil soup with rice and something out of pork, same, full of fat, couldn’t eat that! Dulce de leche comes in a casserole of plastic!!!!(What is this, a cantine?) The toilets are filthy and broken, dirt all over the floor, no hot water, the soap it’s like has oil in it, this is the worst place ever!Now try and make a complaint when no one understands English, or at least they don’t want to understand. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE, you better buy yourself chips from market. It’s ridiculously bad, never experienced something...
