How would you define Korean food 🇰🇷 in 1️⃣ term❓ To me it would be comfort food. Not only because I'm now familiar with its flavors but also because these flavors are, in general, not too strong so there's nothing that would ever bother my palate. In fact, the first time I tried Korean cuisine I was like "meh"... Cause I expected something strong like Thai or Japanese food. Now I love 💙 it. But depending on what I eat or where I eat it, I don't always like it as much. I recently took a friend who had never had Korean cuisine to Gayagum, a new (to me) Korean restaurant in BCN. And I'm not too proud of my choice. I mean, nothing was bad, but nothing was great. Modu's 🥟 texture was weird, japchae and tteokbokki were served basically in a soup... 🤨 The plate of japchae was big, whereas the bowl of tteokbokki was really small. Strange. 🤔 In general the ratios price / quality and price / quantity were off... €17 for 4 slices of 🐖 pork belly sounds like a way too much. And €30 per person for Korean food in Barcelona is not cheap at all. 👎 On a positive note, the service was great: the servers were very nice and they chatted with us and explained the menu very well. 🙏 The venue looks the same as the former restaurant that was there, which was pretty chic, so it is very nice, but I find that the wheel trays traveling across the restaurant are kind of a vibes breaker. 😅 The worst part of this experience definitely was the dolsot bibimbap. I'm an absolute fan 🤩 of bibimbap if it's dolsot cause I love how the texture changes while I'm eating: by the time I finish, I want the rice to be crispy. But that bowl was barely hot! 😭 This was probably the least good Korean food I've had. Disappointed. 😞

Read moreI discovered this restaurant back in January, and I’ve already been five times since—it's that good! Every visit has been a fantastic experience, and I know I’ll keep coming back. The food is consistently delicious and clearly made with high-quality, authentic ingredients. You can really taste the care in every dish. I’ve tried a range of items—from the soups to the BBQ, and even the desserts—and everything has been outstanding.
What truly sets this place apart, though, is the service. The staff is always warm, polite, and genuinely attentive. They go out of their way to make sure you’re enjoying your meal and feel welcome.

Read moreWe stopped by for a weekday lunch and were pleasantly surprised by how good their menu del día is. For just €14.90, you get a full three-course Korean meal plus a drink, it’s honestly one of the best value lunches we’ve found in the area.
The food is not only affordable but also incredibly authentic. From the side dishes to the main courses, everything tasted just like what you’d find in South Korea. The portions are very generous too, we always leave completely full and satisfied.
If you’re craving real Korean food at a great price, this spot is a must-visit. Highly...
