Izakaya Barcelona Gastro & Sushi — Restaurant in Barcelona

The service was horrible, it ruined everything else.

It started well, nice sushi and gyoza, then me and my partner both ordered the same plate a pad thai with chicken. For some unknown reason, even if it was the same plate, my partner got it first while I had to wait for 25 minutes for mine to arrive, by this point my partner had finished. I asked if there was some problem in the kitchen and the waitress told me that she didn't know, and that they would call her when it will be ready. She didn't go and ask, nothing. Then when she brought it to me, not one single apology. I didn't know why this treatment, I've behaved polite all the time.

Then the taste was different from the pad thai of my partner, there was something weird. I didn't finish it and we decided to leave. I paid the whole amount (they never even thought for a second to not make me pay the pad thai), still not a single apology.

If this happened anywhere, at least they would apologise for the delay. Very disappointed and I wouldn't recommend going. The service is the worst we've...

We had a quick late lunch at Izakaya. We came in their last hour of service, and the server was kind of grumpy (like he really wanted to go home!). The sushi was very tasty as you can see from the photo - we already started to enjoy it before I took the photo! We especially liked the Spicy Tuna roll, the Crispy roll, and the California Roll. We got the Tropical roll too, because it was recommended. Topped with fresh fruit, it was good, but we prefer the spicier options. We dined at one of their alfresco sidewalk tables. We really enjoyed the maki, sushi, and gyoza, all were very good. The décor is quite simple for a Japanese restaurant. The first waiter was not very pleasant, probably due to the language barrier, but the waitress made up for it: she was very kind and understanding with us, even though we communicated in English, thank you for that.

Unfortunately, we still felt hungry after the meal, even with a bill over €45. For big eaters, it may not be the best choice if you arrive very hungry in the evening. That said, the food was delicious, though not particularly...
