In BCN and missing Japan 🇯🇵? Read this 👇 My wife and I first went to Japan 15 years ago. My memory of facts is bad but I remember most of my feelings. I also remember a few moments that, for some reason, are special to me. In particular for that visit to Tokyo, I remember a day we were walking towards a temple with a friend we met there who was explaining how Japanese deal with religions. First off, the conversation was super interesting. And the temple was beautiful. But we also walked across a street festival where our friend treated us to kakigori 🍧. I had never heard about kakigori before. For those who don't know, kakigori basically is shaved ice 🧊 on the top of which some syrup and eventually some condensed milk are poured. Then you can add as many toppings as you wish. But mine was only ice and syrup. I don't remember the flavor but I remember I loved the concept, and the preparation fascinated me. 🤩 A few years later a place called Kakigori opened in BCN. No need to explain what they sell, of course. I was so thrilled when I saw that! 🥳 And in the first couple of years, I went there so many times! As soon as I could I also took my son there. He's in love 💙 with kakigori and the place. But I don't like it as much now... The thing is I've had the opportunity to try excellent kakigori, made by Michelin star chefs. So now, this kakigori, which is just ice and syrup prepared in a few seconds, is not as fun anymore. 😔 I bought this peach kakigori for my son a few days ago. It was as good as peach 🍑 syrup can be, but also sweet as peach syrup can be. I'm not sure it's my thing anymore... 😓 €3 per kakigori sounds like a fair price, not so much for the ingredients (ice and syrup) but for the service and the machinery. Quality & taste: 6/10 Quantities: 8/10 Atmosphere: n/a Originality: 6/10 Ratio price / quality: 8/10 Service: 6/10 How I felt afterwards: 6/10

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful Japanese spot, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The standout stars of the menu were undoubtedly the incredible strawberry mochi and chocolate mochi. Each delicate morsel was a burst of flavors, with the soft, chewy rice cake enveloping luscious fillings that left me craving for more. In addition to the mochi, the cheesecakes were a delightful treat. They were rich, creamy, and had the perfect balance of sweetness. Each bite was a heavenly experience that had me savoring every moment. I also had the opportunity to try their dorayaki and taiyaki, and I must say, they were very good. The dorayaki had a fluffy texture and a delectable filling, while the taiyaki had a crispy exterior and a delectable filling that brought back nostalgic memories. Overall, this Japanese spot is a hidden gem for dessert enthusiasts. From the exceptional strawberry mochi and chocolate mochi to the mouthwatering cheesecakes and delightful dorayaki and taiyaki, every bite was a taste of pure bliss. If you have a sweet tooth or simply appreciate fine Japanese treats, I highly recommend paying a visit to this place. You won't be disappointed!

Their chicken curry was really good and not too spicy (and I, as a person that doesn’t like too much spicy foods, am very grateful for that). They also have vegan curry. The kakigoris were too much tasty at the bottom and we couldn’t eat that part, but the rest of it was very nice. The yakisoba was really good and healthy (had vegetables), and very big too for just 6,90€. We ate the dorayakis hours after buying them and they still were very nice. I think that the traditional one (anko) isn’t for everybody, it has a very special taste. The girl who served us was really nice to us, and the place is very cute and clean. The only bad thing about it is that there are no tables to eat there so you gotta take it away and find a place to eat.
