I am also surprised to see such poor reviews for this gem of a spot in the Gràcia district of Barcelona. But after reading other reviews from the people who wrote the bad reviews, I'm not surprised, they're just haters.
Sitting in what is essentially the first plaza as you enter Gràcia from the city center (Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia), this little spot of the SW corner of the plaza has become a regular stop for us on our trip. Being the closest plaza to our flat, it has become the go-to place when we want to step out and enjoy the beautiful Barcelona weather.
The tapas here are as good as the highly rated spots we tried, some of them even better. The snails in tomato sauce (€6) are spectacular, and the deep fried cuttlefish (€6) are darn tasty. Olives (€3) and anchovies (€6) as good as any we've had.
But the star of their show, and one of the best dishes we had in our entire trip was the paella. True, the fact that it cost €15 is a large factor in this assessment, but you should not judge my praise by price alone - this was truly an excellent paella. Prawns, langoustine, mussels, calamari and a delicious saffron rice. It was 10 times better than the paella we paid 3 times more for at the over-rated joint down the street. (sorry for no pic, we had it half devoured before we thought about pictures).
The Gràcia is certainly the best part of Barcelona, and this little gem Las Euras is just one example of the great food, great atmosphere and great people you will find here.
I honestly admit, I want to come back here, maybe even for good. The Gràcia, and Barcelona in general, might be the best place I...
Read moreI have been a regular customer of this restaurant for more than twenty years, and as far as the relationship quality / price is concerned, I have always considered it the very best not just in Gràcia, but the whole of Barcelona (as far as my knowledge goes, obviously). The food is delicious and the service outstanding (lightning-quick and always friendly). I don't go there for the tapas, but for the excellent lunch-time menu, currently less than 10 Euros, which is quite cheap considering the location in one of the most popular squares of Barcelona. Between 14.00 and 15.00 you may have to wait to be seated, so if you can, I'd recommend you go either...
