This was a disappointment. Prices were frankly outrageous for the poor quality. There was a problem with the starter which they promptly fixed. For the mains, my lamb was a bit dry but edible. It was not freshly cooked, and definitely was not acceptable at the price (27 euros, I think). My partner's canelloni was warm on the outside but not on the inside. All the food was obviously reheated (poorly). I could clearly hear the loud hum of a microwave and beeping before they brought out the food for our and others' tables but the owner has denied this in other responses. In either case, in this price range, the food should be freshly cooked. There are plenty of nice options at reasonable prices in Gràcia. Do yourself a favour and avoid.
EDIT to reply to passive aggressive owner:
The owner says they didn't use a microwave. I heard the loud hum of a microwave and the subsequent beeps but as I said in my review, that isn't even the main problem. The food was not freshly cooked and even in their reply they have not said it was freshly cooked. Everything was reheated very poorly (in oven or microwave). If they're offering a cooking course, I would suggest they send their chef.
It is unreasonable to pay nearly 30 euros for a dish of dry, reheated lamb or canelloni that haven't been heated throughout. I recommend other diners choose one of the many other excellent options nearby that offer better quality in that...
Read moreSummary: food looks good for pictures, but taste and texture were horrible
2.5 stars, but I'm giving 2 stars because the dishes got worse at the end. I only ate here one time, so it's possible I went on a bad day, but to me, the food was horrible: by far the worse I've had in Barcelona (at any price) and one of the worst meals I've had... ever. I had the duck, tuna, and octopus. The tuna tartar was ok to decent, flavor very typical, was bit on salty side and has little to no tuna flavor (mostly flavor was mayonnaise, siracha, and soy sauce). The duck was just horrible with no duck flavor (overall bland), rubbery and stringy texture. I could barely swallow the duck. The octopus seemed previously frozen for a long time and was powdery and had little flavor dynamic with the sauce and potatoes.
Sorry, this is just my feeling, but I have no idea why this place is so highly rated. Again, it's possible I went on their worst day possible because I had the worst food ever. I can't believe the duck and octopus. I left the restaurant laughing in disbelief.
Edit: check out owner's deflecting response below. Who cares if it wasn't exactly mashed potatoes or mayonnaise? Also, if I told them I didn't enjoy any dish, and it was probably my worst meal ever, would they cook me a...
Read moreGood but overpriced dishes and a forced second service
This small restaurant is specialised in fusion cuisine. Despite the small room the venue remains comfortable and the waiter first gave a very good impression, advising on the different dishes and wines.
The overall food quality varies from good to very good, which is not uncommon for fusion cuisine. Some dishes like the coconut rice or black truffle raviolis were delicious, other combinations lacked of flavor (the curry sauce of the octopus and the pastor spicing of the pork were too blend). The wine list is very short and affordable (€25 ish on average).
Very negative points are i) the price: starters and mains each cost €25 on average, way too high for Barcelona, and ii) the forced second service: 3 tables including ours were asked to leave the place after only 1.5 hours as the restaurant was making space for the next service.
Although the diner started well it's unacceptable to charge these prices for 2 services. I therefore do not recommend...
