Came for lunch.
Ordered shrimp tacos & margarita w minimal syrup (suagr).
Shrimp tacos was a platter of oily overly cheesy shrimp that had not been de-veined. Clearly. This is basic care from a chef cooking shrimp, to remove the digestive track of the shrimp... add that to the oilly overly cheesy dish that lacked any salt, and it was awful.
Margarita was extremely sweet. I didn't complain. But I did order a 2nd one, again requesting it not be sweet... that's when they told me all the margarita is pre made and they don't make them to order... wow.
So, a Mexican restaurant that can't make a margarita to order and sells oily food that lacks salt (and the shrimp is not de-veined).
I will forget this place tomorrow and never come back.
(UPDATE 18/Nov/23) - The restaurant has responded, stating that I ordered a frozen margarita which they make in large batches... I have never in my life ordered a frozen margarita. I ordered "a margarita con minimo de azucar o syrope". That is the margarita I always order. Your server brought me a frozen margarita, and I didn't complain. However, when I ordered a 2nd one, I again made the same distinction... "menos azucar"... she told me that the margaritas come that way. She did not inform me that there was an option to make them the way I was ordeing for the 2nd time. So, I 100% do NOT accept your response.
As for the food - I have no more to say. It was oily, overly cheesy, and minimally seasoned. It wasn't good. I can't imagine anyone claiming otherwise.
You can defend it, or you can do better work. I'm not trying to hurt you. I would rather have liked what I got. But I'm telling you it...
Read moreLa Adelita Botanero is a fantastic Mexican restaurant located in the heart of Barcelona that is definitely worth a visit. This cozy restaurant on C/ de Muntaner, 100 is a great spot for a night out with friends or family and offers delicious food, excellent drinks, and top-notch service.
My friend and I recently dined at La Adelita Botanero and were blown away by the experience. The margaritas were the perfect way to start our meal, with a well-balanced flavor that was not too sweet or too sour. The salt rim on the glass added an extra touch that really brought out the flavors in the drink.
For our main dishes, we ordered the chicken mole and the potatoes and chicken taquitos. The chicken mole was perfectly cooked and had a rich, deep flavor that was absolutely delicious. The mole sauce was the perfect balance of savory and sweet, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The potatoes and chicken taquitos were also outstanding and were served with a variety of toppings that added an extra layer of flavor.
The service at La Adelita Botanero was also excellent. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. He also recommended some great dishes and drinks that we otherwise may not have tried.
Overall, I highly recommend La Adelita Botanero for anyone looking for a fantastic Mexican dining experience in Barcelona. The drinks, food, and service are all top-notch, and the cozy atmosphere makes for a great night out. I can't wait to go back and try more of their...
Read moreMy friends and I came here based on the good reviews, but these people clearly haven’t had good, authentic Mexican food. The guacamole tasted like it was store bought and had too much onion and tomato but little avocado. The chips may have been homemade but were flavorless. The meat in the enchiladas and tacos tasted like it came from a can. The sauces had a bad flavor like they were from an expired jar. The best part of the meal was the cheese in the queso fundido. At least they didn’t ruin cheese, but the meat product in it was nothing I’ve ever experienced in a Mexican restaurant before. The waitress however, was very warm and pleasant and the service was quick. We were in and out in 40 minutes. Nothing to linger over. I was embarrassed that I brought my Mexican friend here. ...
