The first time I went to an All You Can Eat (AYCE), I thought I was dreaming. So much food for such a low cost! 🤩 I loved the concept. I was young(-er) and I ate a lot without really thinking about what I was eating, let alone the quality of what I was eating. 😅 The first hot pot places in Barcelona were all AYCE and I could keep eating there for hours. 🤗 But I must say that my last experiences were not so good. I'm not as young and now quality matters more than quantity. And since I thought hot-pot == AYCE, I simply stopped eating at hot pot spots.... until I was invited to Shudaxia. 😃 At Shudaxia, you need to think about what you're gonna eat, cause you need to pay for each item you order. Of course, in these conditions, the quality is way higher and they can offer many more options you wouldn't find at an AYCE. The menu is so huge that you could go there maybe 10 times and never repeat any item! 💪 We mainly ordered meat (they offer a mix of lamb, pork and beef that's probably enough for a whole family 😳), some scallops, noodles, baby corn, chestnuts... not many veggies, I must confess... 😅 Anyway, that was a lot of food, way too much, and the good surprise was that the cost for it was not much more expensive than an AYCE hot pot (about €30 per person,, including soft drinks) and, again, reasonable people (which we are not 😇) can easily spend way less! 👏 The staff was very nice and available to explain and help, especially with the sauces. Preparing the sauces is like an art, apparently! 🙌 And, last but not least, the venue is just stunning with semi-private booths or rooms that make you feel like you're in China. 😍 Oh! I almost forgot: for every party, you can draw a paper to win an extra dish, a t-shirt or even the meal for free! Who doesn't love a win-win game?! 🥳

Read moreWhen you're looking for Asian food in a Western country, especially late night after drinks, this place more than suffices. It's not the best hotpot I've personally had, but it works.
The menu is relatively wide, with the usual iberico pork, beef slices, prawn paste, etc.; but also interesting items like gizzards, beef tongue, and tripe. Add some fried rice if you're hungry.
Service was not perfect but suffices. Owner-couple was very pleasant; we ended up having a very good conversation with them after our meal, about their journey from China to Spain, and the restaurant business...

We chose three different broth flavors, and there were so many vegetables and meats to pick from that we ended up ordering a bit of everything. The portions were huge!
I absolutely loved the whole experience. The place, the people, the atmosphere, and the food was...
