I recently had the pleasure of dining at MEXITALY: BAR & RESTAURANTE MEXICANO Y PIZZERIA in Barcelona, and it was an exceptional experience. The restaurant is family-run, well-decorated, and both the chef and her husband made us feel incredibly welcome. We started with a starter to share: “Queso fundido con Champiñones” (melted cheese with mushrooms). For the main course, we enjoyed “Tacos de pollo chipotle” (chipotle chicken tacos) and “Quesadillas de chorizo” (chorizo quesadillas), all accompanied by a supplement Mexican spicy sauce, and lemon sauce. The food was fresh, authentic, and full of vibrant flavours, and the cocktails made by her husband and the Sangria made by her were the perfect complement to the meal. Lovely family run restaurant with delicious food. We arrived to Barcelona at night and were running around trying to find dinner. We got to this restaurant and it looked like they were getting ready to close as it was 11:30! They were lovely and seated us. Highly recommend this place! It is family owned and operated. It is the best Mexican food I have had since living in Spain. The pastel de elote comes out hot, and it is not too sweet. If you enjoy spicy I recommend trying some of the haberno salsa! It had the perfect amount of heat and flavor.
