Pastries 🥐 or gelato 🍨? In Gràcia, BCN, there's a bakery, famous for their pastries 🥐 and their gelato 🍨. It's called Morreig. I already tried their pastries, which I found good but expensive but many said their gelato was even better: I had to try that also. 😋 I went there a few weeks ago with my family and I ordered a 2-scoop cone (€3.5) as I was already full from lunch and the 3-scoop one was kinda expensive (€4.7). Well, given the size of the scoops, even the small one was already expensive. 😓 The first flavor I tried was hazelnut, very good with big chunks of hazelnut, but a bit too sweet. Fortunately, the second one, pistachio (of course) was not as sweet and a bit more refined... but because of the sweetness of the first scoop, I couldn't really feel the flavor... 🫤 The texture of the cream was good and it didn't melt too fast, despite the relatively hot ☀️ day that day. 👍 The waffle 🧇 was good but nothing special. In the end, the best part of the experience was the interaction with the clerk who was super nice, helpful and patient 🫶 (you need to be patient with me when I order gelato! 😅). Overall, that was a good experience but maybe I expected too much because of what I had heard before. Quality & taste: 8/10 Quantities: 5/10 Atmosphere: n/a Originality: 6/10 Ratio price / quality: 7/10 Service: 10/10 How I felt afterwards: 8/10

More of a 3,5 than a 4 stars. I find difficult to write this review, as I am thorn by the discrepancy between my expectations and the reality. The french influence in the pastries is strong and really appreciated and the variety is great. We got 4 different pieces. I was very disappointed by the Kouign Amann: beautifully caramelized on the outside but too dry and not very buttery on the inside. The lemon brioche tasted fresh and citrucy, nothing to cry for. Very delicious the two pieces with pistachio: the flan was perfect... Creamy enough, flaky crust, perfect indeed. Unfortunatly, there are no tables to sit and you have to eat somewhere on the street. That's a bit annoying. If you are not in the area, it is a bit long to reach and probably not worth it. I do not criticize the price of each pastry because It Is clear the usage of high quality ingredients and the amount of work behind.

I think I just found my new best French bakery in Barcelona!! We got various pastries and they were all SO GOOD even if we had them not at the freshest moment (in the evening and the next day) The croissant and pain du chocolat are absolutely competitive with the ones in Paris, buttery, beautiful structure, flaky and crunchy outside, soft and bouncy inside. We also tried canele and cinnomon roll, they’d taste better if we got them fresh, but already quite satisfying. Another highlight is the flan, nice texture and full of vanilla seeds!! It’s really a generous pleasant amount. Beside the high quality, the price is very friendly as well. I had to pay much more to get the nearly-similar quality of French style croissant here. I really really recommend this shop and will try more things there for sure!
