Our stay at INNSiDE by Meliá Barcelona Apolo was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. The hotel had a great vibe to it – from the get-go, we felt like we were on holiday. To celebrate our anniversary, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary small bottle of cava, a thoughtful touch that made our stay extra special.
The room amenities were excellent. We appreciated the complimentary free water, sparkling water, and juice provided in our room everyday. The room itself was nice and clean, and housekeeping did a fantastic job of keeping it perfect throughout our stay.
The staff at INNSiDE by Meliá Barcelona Apolo were exceptional. They were incredibly helpful and offered amazing recommendations for food, activities, and local markets (Sant Antoni Sunday Market, Mercat de la Boqueria – both within walking distance). Their suggestion to attend a flamenco show was a highlight of our trip. We were especially grateful for their assistance in finding great dining options, including a fantastic Italian restaurant nearby. We also found a fantastic small hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant that was open till 3am, El Pachuco, online, which the staff vouched for and guided us to (5-minute walk from the hotel).
The location of the hotel is ideal. The surrounding strip is full of restaurants, including a McDonald's just a 3-minute walk away if you're looking for something familiar. The metro station is conveniently located right in front of the hotel, making it easy to explore the city. We stayed in a 6th-floor room and had no issues with noise, contrary to some other reviews. We even had a distant view of the Sagrada Família, which, while not perfect, was still a pleasant perk.
One minor downside was the number of people standing around on the roads, which made us feel uncomfortable at times, particularly at night. There was also a lot of vandalism; some of the graffiti was really cool, but other surrounding parts felt a bit dirty – I want to express this is surrounding and not the hotel itself. However, this seemed to be a common occurrence throughout Barcelona, and in many places, it was worse. I think we would have encountered a similar situation had we chosen any other hotel within this price range (which I felt to be very fair).
We chose not to book breakfast within the hotel, opting instead to explore the numerous amazing cafés nearby that offered great pastries and coffee within walking distance. If the Metro isn’t your thing, taxis were also easy to find, making transportation hassle-free. The hotel also offers a ‘rent a bike’ service.
Overall, our stay at INNSiDE by Meliá Barcelona Apolo was fantastic. The clean rooms, attentive staff, excellent location, and thoughtful amenities made for an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone...
Read moreI like to always review with both good and bad of course. The bad jumped out at me first when I arrived at my room. It was 24c and was told as it was still March that only heating was working, so the only way to cool it down was opening the window. The problem was the window only opens very slightly. After a couple hours it basically didn't adjust the temperature at all other than.5 degrees. That isn't a comfortable sleeping temperature at least for me not 23.5 Celsius. ||I asked the front desk if there was anything can be done to open the window further, they sent someone up who was able to fully open the window however he said we can't leave it like this because some people might jump. I get it but maybe have me sign something. So he put it back to this slightly open version of the window and my sleep was just uncomfortable and didn't last very long. ||To top it all off with the room being warm, I found the bed then also not comfortable for me. So it sucked that on all of my 3 nights I pretty much got 4 hours sleep each night.||I'm not normally such a complainer but sleep is the biggest thing that you need when you're staying at a hotel, and I just didn't get good sleep here. ||One additional negative before I get into the positives. The rooms and the doors to the hallways seem to be very thin. You can hear people coming in late at night waking you up. And it's almost impossible to gently close the door they all want to slam. ||On to the positives... Location. This hotel is very close to the Metro, and quite Central to every touristy thing you want to do. The Familia Sagrada is only an 18 minute Subway ride away.||The included mini bar is also a great benefit. They load it up everyday with pop, juice water and beer. And it's free. ||My rate included breakfast, and it wasn't bad. They have an omelette station where they will make you whatever omelette you want. There's lots of selections for various desires. Much of it looks to be made there but quite a bit of his packaged which I guess is another little negative. You could see the waffles in their packages. ||I wish I had a better review, because mine probably goes against most others for this place which is why I chose it in the first place. But like I said sleep quality is the most important thing for me at a hotel, with the room temperature not being able to be cooled, and a bed I constantly rolled around on without getting great sleep unfortunately I couldn't...
Read moreExtremely disappointed. We booked a queen’s bed room we got a double. Asked to be fixed said will be done fallowing day by housekeeping but never happened. Then doors omg , the rooms doors are something else. They have no automatic brake so when you close it be ready for a big sound. On our coridor it sounded like early new year’s fireworks every day. On top of it we where put in a room that is right behind a theatre that is in the same building with the hotel. Well i have to say that for my last 2 nights i har a big concert in my room. Very loud music. When asked staff about it took 45 min to let me know that is coming from the theatre. I was offered to change room but at 9pm after a very long i was told it will be maximum until 10pm and it will stop. Decided to stay in the same room but not knowing that next day will be the same and stuff members didn’t bother to let me know even thow i complained the day before. On check out i was just told sorry for the inconvenience. Classic. Very poorly managed and the stay was a disaster. Never again.
To answer to your reply. You are all wrong. Firstly i booked a queens bed and got a double. Spoke with reception said will be done next day it never happened.in regards of the theatre i called at 8pm when i got back to my room 3 times down at reception and finally somebody came back to me after 1h to let me know that is coming from thr theatre. After all day being out at 9pm you expected me to start packing and move . I was tired and i was told it will be only until 10pm. Next day somebody came into my room mid day without knocking and after rushed back out. Left like a sign outside but i never contacted reception because the poor way you guys dealt with the situation the day before. I was in and out of the hotel al day that dau. Nobody bother to let me know that i will suffer with the same music next day. You guys could have checked that i was checking out the next day so the music this day lasted until 12am and checked out at 4am. So thank you for keeping me awake all night. If you really wanted to let me know about the second day that will be the same you would have done it but it just shows how much you guys cared . Anyway no point. There is no way that i will ever join...
