Stumbled upon this place by chance on our last day in Barcelona. Very happy to have found it! Friendly and old-fashioned atmosphere, all other groups there were local groups and older couples, so certainly not a touristy place. Older lady, presumably the owner, spoke no english but that didn't stop her chatting to us, and we managed to communicate fine. The waiters also made us feel very welcome, and they did speak pretty good english. No english on the menu though, but we managed fine with our knowledge of Catalan and Google translate. Range of smaller tapas/starter dishes and bigger fish and meat main courses. They brought us a few extra appetisers on the house, which was a nice gesture. Slices of butifarra sausage were fab, bread with tomato amongst the best we had. Goats cheese salad with nuts and honey was very good (listed as a starter, but a big portion), baby broad beans with small squid was perhaps the single nicest dish I had in Bcn in 2 weeks.

Very friendly service without being over the top, they genuinely seem to want to make sure you enjoy yourselves. And we did! Good price for the quality...

Visited on a weeknight in June. The place was empty - no business at all. We had heard that they had great paella, so we stayed despite the fact that it was the only empty restaurant in the neighborhood. We sat outside, which was very nice. The waiter was nice, but gently pushed an appetizer on us, which we initially just dismissed as salesmanship.

The bread was actually the highlight of the meal - warm, smothered in butter and topped with crushed tomato. The appetizer, a plate of mushrooms, was very salty. The seafood paella was good, but nothing to write home about. We also ordered two glasses of wine, which was unremarkable.

The total was too high - by far the most expensive meal that we had during our entire week in Barcelona (and we weren’t sticking to a budget). And then the waiter told us that tip was not included. We knew that there was no tipping culture in Barcelona, but we tipped him anyway (if you’re so hard up that you need to swindle, fine). He gave us each an awkward hand...

Chose to eat here due to the reviews. Dinner for 2, we shared some tapas. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, but two larger tables arrived soon after and I feel they got a lot more care and attention as their bill would of course be higher. The patatas bravas were nothing exciting, the mussels were very shrunken and sadly a lot of empty shells. The fried vegetable plate wasn't anything exciting, and the calamari ... again, nothing exciting. No offer of whether we wanted dessert, no complimentary grappa with the bill which we noted the other tables did receive. So-so.

We tried the entricote, mushroom with garlic and tomato bread. Meat was delicious, plate is hot and you can cook it by yourself when you are eating. I think it’s a really good approach for the meat. Mushroom and garlic serviced with the shrimps, this is the first time that I tried it. It’s more than I expected. Tomato with bread was a little bit un adequate. Waiter suggested the primeros that is helpful. Good service with the good atmosphere. I will definetely try again.

Authentic family owned business, that deserves all the glory. Jordi our server was offering an impeccable service and was welcoming us with his warm and personal character. The food was delicious, generous portions and we enjoyed, hands down, THE BEST Paella we ever had. The dishes and ambience really make you feel at home. Pure Comfort. Highly recommended to tourist as locals alike.
