Food is alright, however service is really lacking.
We arrived around 8:15pm and there were only 2 to 3 tables with customers. When we walked in they asked do we have a reservation, after we told them no they pointed to a table close to the exit, right before we sat down they told us “wait” and went into a discussion while we stand there awkwardly for a good 30s+ before had us sat in the back. No explanation or anything, just “wait” and point.
Later on a pair of local sat next to us after we placed our order. We both have the same waiter but you can feel the differences in service: we ordered 1 apptz and 2 entrees – they all came at different timing. The couple ordered 3 apptz and all theirs arrived before ours. We both ordered tomato bread; theirs arrive immediately, ours was forgotten. The waiter I believed checked on us once, but multiple times with the couple because we were trying to flag him down several times and he just never look at us.
I understand we are Asian where they think we don’t understand Spanish. But the waiter speak totally fine English and my husband was born and raised in a Spanish speaking country! He understands 100% of what the staff talked about. I read another review mentioned they treat locals better than tourist and I totally agreed based on our experience. The staff was really rude, leaving while we were speaking, throwing cutlery and dishes on the table and so on. We ordered some ‘pan con tomate’ which is the one from the picture — when we asked where are the tomatoes the lady said that this is how they are done in Catalunya...(we live here and had pan con tomate before, but anyway, this one didn’t have any tomato, not to mention it was hard and old!!) The dishes are pretty expensive, ‘patatas bravas’ are 8€ which are the most expensive ones I’ve ever seen — the problem is that they were pretty oily and bad as well!
Defintely not coming back here, there are a lot of better places...
Read moreI have been there a few times with family and friends in 2021 and 2022 - this is the place I go to when I have people coming over and I want to make sure we eat well. Here you are guaranteed to always find amazingly fresh seafood and shellfish - their oysters, clams and lobster are just great. The must-try dish is definitely Pulpo a Feira (boiled octopus, cooked the Gailician's way). They also have a great cake to finish off the meal (tarta de la abuela), which I strongly recommend jointly with a shot of orujo blanco. The house white (Albariño) is perfect to accompany a great meal. The staff is very friendly and this is definitely value for money. Definitely recommended, I will be...
