Restaurant Piccata — Restaurant in Barcelona

Upon arrival, we asked if we could be seated for drinks. The waiter sat us at a table, and after we ordered drinks told us there was a two plate minimum to stay. We ordered two tapas, and were told tapas were not considered plates. We responded we had a 30min wait to meet someone, and that was all we needed. The waiter then said gestured we needed to leave. We are polite patrons, so left as per his request. I am leaving this review here as we believe the waiter thought he could make more money from us, especially on a quiet day when we were the one of two tables at the restaurant. We came to this place on a recommendation. The restaurant has a lot of fresh fish that is displayed in a showcase. The rice and pork in mushroom soup had a very slimy texture, and the meat was mostly tough and not all could be chewed. Fried fishes were okay. The best were the potatoes. The service was very friendly and fast, but since we were not familiar with the menu, we wouldn't mind a few more suggestions from the waiter. In Barcelona for 4 days and we ate at some beautiful places but this was definately the worst... service wasn't great and food was even worse. Lady was rude, toast came out with no butter asked for butter which came 10 minutes later and was slammed on the table. The Eggs were really snotty and barely cooked and the bacon had barely seen the pan It came out of.. if you want service with a smile this is not the one. Definately much better places in barcelona...
