First visit to Salsa as we were in the neighborhood and Mexican is always a good idea, especially tacos. Starting with the good - drinks were amazing (michelada and frozen margarita) followed by nachos which were great. However then we moved on to quesadillas and tacos and they were just not at the same level. Four stars for food is pulled to four by the drinks and nachos. Quesadillas are smallest I've seen and cheese melted too much so it either poured out of tortilla or was charred from touching the grill (sorry, didn't take a photo). Tacos looked nice and are priced like most tacos in Barna, but they were dry (tortillas and toppings). No salsa (yes the place is called Salsa) given with tacos. Or any sauce wither (Valentina...). That is because they charge for that in this Mexican 'street' food. I have never ordered a taco in the whole world (ok, five countries I clearly remember, including Mexico, US, Slovakia and of course Spain (Barcelona)) where tacos were served without at least three bottles of different sauces to pour on them. So a big, big minus on this. I don't care if it is 50 cents or euro. You don't charge for that. Increase taco prices if you must, would be a better experience. And tacos...
Read moreWhat an absolute disappointment! I went to this place because I saw the good reviews and it was one of the worst experiences I had with tacos in Barcelona. First of all the food was not great, the tacos were very dry and not really special. But the worse was that the waiter recommended me to get the tacos of the month (shown in the picture) that on the menu are priced as 5.2 eur (already more expensive than everything else) but she said that its two tacos together that's why the price is higher. Turned out they charged me 10 euros for those tacos and when I asked the waiter she said no the price is per taco. And I said "well I only wanted one but you said it automatically includes two" so the price should have included that. Other than that they also charge me 5 euros for a tiny bowl os guacamole. So overall, it looks like they are trying to rip you off. There are amazing taquerias in Barcelona and unfortunately this is not...
Read moreThis is my second time dining in this restaurant and my friend and I absolutely loved it!
The restaurant itself provides a cozy/intimate atmosphere, given that it’s a fairly small space, however the size creates a unique dining experience. All of the ordering is done via the phone, which sends your orders directly to the kitchen. We sat at a long table that directly overlooked the entire kitchen (really cool!) and had a very pleasant conversation with the chef.
The food is fairly priced and tastes wonderful, I had the beef quesadilla and my friend had the chicken quesadilla, we really enjoyed our meals.
I’m definitely coming back again and inviting my loved ones to share the great...
