Parc de la Colònia Castells — Attraction in Barcelona

Fantastic park, very green, so many activities for kids and adults! And close to Sants station. I couldn’t make proper videos as it was full of people when we went on the afternoon of a Wednesday, but you have lots of areas to just relax, two outside gyms, one water fountain (for drinking), and the incredible kids park! There were two kids parties going on even, lots of space. The kids’ park has the big slides that are the main attraction but it also has so much more! Un parque nuevo con atracciones entretenidas para los mas pequeños. Se ubica en la antigua Colonia Castells, testigo vivo del modelo urbanistico que amparó a la clase obrera durante el crecimiento industrial de la ciudad, en el primer cuarto del siglo XX.

El parque no rinde tributo a la historia del local.

Dispone de tres toboganes de tubo, 7 columpios de largo recorrido, plataformas y cuerdas. También existen zonas para jugar con arena, piedras, y un césped.

Lamentablemente, a dia de hoy, carece de sombra suficiente. La vegetación es joven, sin copas, y no hay lonas. Sería interesante que el ayuntamiento tuviera en cuenta la emergencia climática y el impacto de la calor en el diseño de los nuevos parques y jardines. La vegetación plantada es tropical y/o invasora, siendo el 95% de los árboles acacias o mimosas. Se ha preservado algún ejemplar ya existente en el espacio (higuera, citrico), pero son pocos.
