If I could leave a review with zero stars, I would. It was the absolute worst service I’ve ever experienced in Barcelona. We came in for an 8:30 PM reservation, and we did not receive our appetizers until 930. At 10:30 PM, they gave us our main entrée, but all the dishes were cold. The plates had been sitting under heat lamps. The food was overcooked and cool in the center despite the extremely hot plates.
We expressed our disappointment and were told several versions of why the food was late. The waiter chastised us and told us we were incorrect about how the food was kept warm and how long it had been sitting in the kitchen. We asked for our meals to be redone, and the waiter offered to reheat our current dishes. He said the meals could not be redone.
With a 30% occupancy rate at the time of our reservation, it is unacceptable to have such poor service at such a “highly rated, valued restaurant.”
The waiter was pleasant at first but soon exhibited sexist, rude behavior, using profanity and making threatening statements. He could not tell us who the manager or head chef was when we asked to speak with them. He asked what could be done to remedy the situation, and we requested our four entrées be comped, and we would cover the appetizers and glass of wine.
He returned to our table, stating he could not cover the entrees nor comp the whole meal but offered a free shot of alcohol or coffee. He informed us we would have to pay for the entire meal.
When asked why, he stated we could handle this situation “the nice way or the hard way.” A table full of women and a male waiter telling us that there’s a nice way or a hard way is absolutely unacceptable conduct and behavior.

This location is fairly new, I believe they opened around a year ago - we’ve been visiting them since day 1. The place has a nice ambiance and they have plenty of seating areas. The service is always very kind and professional - sometimes it takes them a bit more time to bring the desserts or the bill. I like Saona due to the fact that they have a good selection of food to choose from so everyone can find someone they’d like. The quality and presentation of the dishes are great, however the portions have noticeably decreased in the last couple of months. Before, I always felt full when finishing my plates, now I come out hungry and I’m not necessarily the person who eats a lot. Also, they always have the milojas on the menu as a dessert but they almost never have it. Ayer dia 7 de Octubre teníamos reserva para las 20,30 para 6 personas, llegamos 10 minutos antes y el restaurante estaba cerrado con algunas luces del fondo de la sala encendidas , ya nos inquietó, pero al final abrieron el local pasando 3 minutos de la hora de nuestra reserva. Primero pedimos la bebida, todos vino menos una persona que pidió agua, cuando vino el camarero con la bebida, pregunto "QUIEN ES EL RARITO QUE NO BEBE VINO??" , sin comentarios Cuando realizábamos la comanda, los 6 queríamos degustar el menú degustación le preguntamos si podía cambiar un platillo de los primeros a una persona que es intolerante a los encurtidos, la camarera fue a cocina a preguntar y tras tardar más de 5 minutos regresó indicando que si. Nos preguntó por que plato quería cambiarlo, le dijimos que unas bravas estaba bien. Volvió a cocina para preguntarlo y tras otra larga espera dijo que no se podía cambiar ningún plato. La persona alérgica, se resigno y empezamos a realizar la comanda, cuando llegamos a los segundos platos 3 de las 6 personas de la mesa pidieron secreto ibérico, entonces la camarera nos informó que no quedaban, que pidiéramos otra cosa de la "carta". Empezamos de nuevo a mirar y cuando regresó vino otra camarera, Angela(no sé si la encargada) y su primera pregunta fue, aquí que problema tienen????, INCREIBLE, le explicamos lo ocurrido hasta el momento y fuimos a hacer el pedido, cuando empezamos a pedir los segundos, nos indicó que SOLO podríamos pedir los segundos del menú degustación (solo quedaban 3 opciones) no del menú de noche (todo lo contrario a la otra camaerera, debido a que las raciones en el menú degustación son más pequeñas (precio menú degustación 16,95€, menú noche 12,95€) . Finalmente dedicimos cambiar de menú y escoger el menú de noche normal. Cuando le dije que no entendía nada me dijo que eran normativas de la empresa y que no había nada que hacer, que además y en un tono chulesco SI SEGUIAMOS EN ESTA TESITURA NO QUERIA ATENDERNOS ya que le estábamos perdiendo el respeto, NUNCA LE HABLAMOS MAL NI LE FALTAMOS EL RESPETO NI A ELLA NI A NINGÚN CAMARERO, con lo que claramente nos invitó a irnos.
