Most of my friends in Barcelona actually live... outside of Barcelona! ๐ I mean a few km away from the city but still, it's not Barcelona. So it's hard for me to see them often. So when they come to Barcelona for work, we try to meet for lunch (even though I usually don't eat anything but fruits for lunch). Last week, I was supposed to meet with one of them at Thai Noodles (1h away from home!) and, after 5 minutes waiting for him there, I called him to let the restaurant know how late we would be. Turns out he was sick and in bed, so sick he forgot to cancel... ๐ Since I was there, quite far away from home, and since I had booked, I didn't want to cancel at the last minute (actually past the hour) so I went in by myself. How lucky I had my music! ๐ The service was efficient and fast... maybe a bit too fast cause the waitress came to take my order before I could even open the menu. And for some reason when I explained I was not ready she started to speak English... that was weird... ๐คจ The food was brought quite fast and super hot. I actually had to wait several minutes for it to cool down. Better this way than the other way around, of course. I had pork meatballs skewers (luk chin moo) and a bowl of noodles (pad ki mao). Both dishes were delicious, although I would have prefered the noodles to be a bit longer cause I felt like eating with chopsticks (I know Thais don't use chopsticks but I personally prefer chopsticks for noodles in a bowl... if they're long enough, of course!). The place is nice and colorful, quite the image I've got of Thailand. ๐ Everything was nice then... everything but the price. I paid โฌ20 for lunch on a weekday, no drinks, no desserts. I find this very expensive for Asian (non-Japanese) food in Barcelona.

ย ย ย Read moreI was really disappointed with our visit. First impressions the restaurant looks nice. The ice tea was probably the worst tea I have ever tasted. For starters, we ordered vegetable spring rolls to share. My daughter is a vegan, and when she started to eat one of the spring rolls, she discovered it was meat. What would happen if she had an allergic reaction to this? The main dishes were also disappointing. The noodles were too salty, and the Thai curry was watery with soggy noodles and hard vegetables. The only positive things were that the prawns were nice and the food was sereved piping hot. I was going to complain, but my daughter and wife didn't want to make a fuss. We only visited this restaurant based on the good reviews, but I definitely would not...
ย ย ย Read moreI had the best Khao Soi of my life tonight. The best Thai food of my life. Even if you're just visiting Barcelona and you think it would be odd to get Thai food instead of Spanish, trust me, this place is a must. The staff are so friendly and it has really great decor too. I loved the country music. I was served by Rodel and RJ and Rodel was funny and kind and made my experience amazing. I asked for his recommendation for either the beef or chicken and he was spot on recommending the chicken because oh my god! The food came out in about 3 mins with such juicy chicken and delicious noodles and a thick broth/sauce. The portion was really big and I was able to take some away with me. You...
